    • Looking good, Foodie. I like the red gingham (?) with the blue sweater, nice combo.

Here's me, looking about as dressed-up as I get on Christmas vacation.

      • Thanks Ben. Red gingham is right. Nice Jacket, I'm on the lookout for a blazer of the color in your BR jacket.

        • The shades of the cardigan and jacket are pretty close, raising the risk IMO, but I think it looks great.

          • @BenR, that SC is impressive! is the button up chambray or denim...either way well done! i like the natural colors...

foodie, the red gingham shirt and that overcoat is banging, love the look there. The second one is ok, the blazer is nice and contrasting patch are awesome, just not sure of the two blues though. I wonder what that would look like if you work the blazer with a goldish tan sweater, and a white button down. but over all i like the look...

            • The shirt is chambray, actually more of a blue than the picture shows.

              • Thanks for the feedback guys, yea its not that great, I like the camel/gold sweater with white button up idea tho max, sounds very professorish.

BTW MADMAX: how do you implement a picture into the thread? The whole "[/img]" code doesn't seem to work.

                      • Would a collared white or white tattersal button up have been better?

                        Comment

                        • (there should be no reason to preface this with IMO, because there is nothing but Os in all of these discussions, but...) IMO, absolutely. 10x better; looks intentional, white T looks...I can't find the right adjective; sloppy? Amateurish? Teenagerish? All of those are too pejorative, but that the general direction.

I'd like the refinement of the collared shirt against the casual of the jacket. Sort of a sporty casual.

                          • Thanks! I think there was an article on dapper or effortless gent in the past about the need on replacing all white Ts with either collared shirts or polos once we are no longer in high school lol.

                            • white undershirts are like underwear... they shouldn't be seen and when they are it looks sloppy and like a mistake. It's not as bad here as it looks intentional, but still.

                              • I'm slowly learning not to use manufacturer pictures as references for fit after the untucked shirt pictures and now the white T-shirt showing. For example here's how BR shows to wear this site's favorite V-neck:

Why do they do these things instead of showing proper fit?
