Okay guys. I need a watch for under $50. Just one, and it has to be pretty versatile (chinos and button-up, but not necessarily okay with a suit). What should it be? I like the Timex, but what do you all say? Which Timex, if that?

I have the second one. The strap felt cheap, so I changed it. You might wanna take this in consideration. The strap on the first one looks better.

On second thought I see shipping brings it up to almost $50, so I suppose I'd be willing to go a bit above that for a good watch. Any other suggestions? Still around the $50 range...

Roommate has http://www.amazon.com/Skagen-858XLSL...eywords=skagen that's right at $50.
To me at least it's pretty versatile. Nice clean polished look means it can dress up a bit, but since it's such a simple design I don't think it's out of place with polos and button downs. Then again, I'm sitting here wearing the Weekender lol.

Yeah, for under $50, Timex is going to be your best bet, probably something from the Weekender line. They're fairly robust, and you'll have a good mix of styling, in terms of the straps you can choose from. Also, the Indiglo on those is a very nice feature, especially at that price point.

For around $70 you can find the Seiko 5 with a slightly more conservative face and metal strap on Amazon.

2nd what tarmac said. Just got this Seiko 5 off Amazon for $63 shipped. You could pretty much wear it with anything including a suit. No complaints so far.
