What do you do for a living?

I'm 99% sure this has been discussed before, but my several searches were unable to uncover anything (I'm also bad at the search function generally) so let's just resurrect it. This topic is painfully apropos to me as I'm stuck working at the office on the national day of rest for the working proletariat...

I'm the production manager for a software company in Atlanta. What do you do for a living?

Also feel free to post if you're looking for a job, the Dappered Networking System(tm) may be able to assist you.

Explains why my "work", "job", etc searches didn't work.

Nerdland, when you say designer, do you mean flash animation? Or backend stuff?

I'm in finance, which is probably why I lean conservative when discussing work clothes.

Finance. But 90% of the people I work with wear shirt and pants rather than a suit/tie.

I'm a wildlife biologist at an environmental consulting firm. Tomorrow I'm in the field all day so won't be worrying about looking good at all (nylon hiking pants, synthetic button-down REI shirt, hiking boots). It's days where I'm half in the office and half in the field that are hard to dress appropriately for. Not that anyone in my office cares - it's the ultimate in casual dress with limited style sense (our old-school IT guy wears dad jeans, bright white tennis shoes, and baggy sweatshirts EVERY DAY).
