    This trench from the gap

Does anyone own this trench? I'd love some opinions on it. Might jump on it considering the 30% weekend sale and I need a go-to trench.

to buy, or not to buy?

I like the AE one better. I have not liked Banana's trenches lately after comparing them with other brands in store.

I like the details on the AE one and the poor review on the gap website states that it feels cheaply made (perhaps too much nylon?).

Do any other sub-100$ trenches stand out? I can get the ae one for $70(shipped) this weekend...

I've spent the past couple days trying to decide whether to pull the trigger on this one from Brooks Brothers. The look is exactly what I want but it doesn't look like it'll do anything against the cold. I'd prefer a trench with a removable liner so I can use it throughout more of the year.

Def like the AE one better. Like the details better. The Gap one looks sterile, like a lab coat imo.

What do you think of this thin pea coat? http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatP...=&sectionsize=

as far as single breasted trenches go - in my opinion you can't beat the Holborn from J.Crew in terms of versatility, simplicity, and effectiveness. I don't like that it's single-breasted or that it is dry-clean only. Probably a great 3-season trench though.

Peacoats - I like the beefier(wool) peacoats. That peacoat looks a little feminine to me (might be the way the model is posing haha).

I ordered the AE trench for 69.97 shipped. I'll see how I like it.

Hunting for the perfect trench under $100 is tough.

No belt, no thanks! (At least with the double-breasted trench.)

I tried on a very similar looking trench at BR Factory. It was cut very, very straight, so it looked fairly boring without a belt.
