Yeah, it's awesome, but I've bought too much stuff... Go for it!

So I got these for $15:

      And these for $30:

      Did I do okay?

Depends on how much experience you have with shoe care. The first pair have small cracks at the flex point on the outside. You might be able to extend their life with some Saphir Dubbin Graisse:

The 2nd pair have deep creases in the vamp. They likely weren't well cared for and weren't stored with shoe trees between wears. A few coats of leather conditioner with shoe trees over a few days can minimize those, but they'll always be there. They'll also need several coats of burgundy / cordovan shoe cream to even out the color from the scuffs.

Kenneth, the $15 ones have water damage, cracks in the leather, torn seams, and worn soles. The $30 one has permanent leather creases which likely have cracks, permanent scratches, and generally look horrible.

I'm sorry for being so negative, but these shoes should have been thrown away -- not sold.

@JC - Thanks for the input.

@Bruschetta - I was in the market for burgundy shoes and I suppose I got trigger happy . The seller isn't responding to e-mails, though, so perhaps I'll be able to get away from this one after all.

Not shoes, but still an ebay find. I've been following this for a few days. Thoughts?

              Is it old-mannish?

Never heard of the maker... Viscose as the main material... I'd pass

Is it? I missed that. How can they call it linen/cotton if neither are the main ingredient? Shows how much I'm paying attention. :-P

How embarrassing... You can take away my Dappered card now.

Jordan, well spotted. Those Strands look like they're in good shape. The only thing that would worry me is that the seller has caked polish on the shoes that might be hiding a few scratches. Still, they look good.

@Jordan: If don't already have a pair of black dress shoes and you need to fill that hole, then that's a fantastic price for the condition those shoes are in. With how little wear they have, I bet they were either floor models or store returns with little wear. If black Strands are what you're after, this is a good price for them. That particular Ebay seller is well-known and trsuted, though. I imagine they won't stay at that price.

There were some walnut strands on there yesterday that had the tiniest chip in the wood sole that could have been hidden easily with a wood pen. Wish they would have been my size.

any thoughts? Not the next thing on my list to buy, but seem like a decent deal.

not sure if it's coincidence, but now that I've posted it, there are bidders.

FYI, I'm selling a pair of gently used AE Sutter in size 10E. I wore them to work for only a couple weeks.
