    Rockport Cordovan Shoes

Anyone know if these shoes are made from cordovan leather or if they are simply "cordovan" colored?

Anyone have any experience with Rockports? I should probably just wait until the Nordstrom sale to get AEs but if these are cordovan and of decent quality they might be worth checking out.

My rockport slipons(paid $100 for at %50 off) are by far the comfiest shoes I've owned.

I'll say this, the 3 pairs of allen edmonds I've worn and walked around in, suck.

They are full cordovan..probably not the best selection but it says they are cordovan leather. For $140 and with my experience, if I could order from there I probably would.

•cordovan full-grain leather is easy to clean and maintain to extend product life

I'm suspicious of the wording "cordovan full-grain leather".

You can see that under Color it's listed as Cordovan. The listing on 6pm and Amazon would lead me to believe that that's cow hide leather, not horse leather.

Not sure why Dillard's then says "cow" lining. But I agree, cordovan must be the color. Those other listings of the same shoe seem more accurate.

It could be just me, but the idea of "Rockport cordovan" seems like an anachronism..

If it is too good to be true....

There are a lot of Cordovan knockoffs out there, mostly from China & India. Buyer beware, particularly at a "deals" website or a discount store. You can check certain details and it becomes much more apparent if you got ripped off. For a frame of reference, a full shell cordovan dress shoe should run $500-$600+. Top notch textiles cost more...but they will last far longer and look far better than a cheaper knockoff pair.
