They are constantly sold out of staple suit colors in 44s (as well as almost every other size). What is the secret to this system?

If you keep an eye on their StyleForum thread you can sometimes get advance notice re: when products are launching/being re-stocked. But yeah otherwise it comes down to checking back a lot and moving quickly when items go live.“There are moments, Jeeves, when one asks oneself, 'Do trousers matter?'"
"The mood will pass, sir.”

One positive thing I'll say about the stock issues that S&M faces on a regular basis is that it really makes me evaluate how much I want or need something. I've already got my staples taken care of, so mostly my purchases from them fall squarely in the "want" category. That said, I am convinced enough of the value of their product that I'm willing to stick it out until my size comes back in.
ALSO... I subscribe to their emails. They're pretty good at sending emails to their database when they've restocked.
Thanks to their emails, I learned that they now carry full canvas suits. That's a topic for a whole other thread. In fact, I'm going to start one right now.

Mad Martigan I'd watch the StyFo thread for product releases.

I think many people don’t have an idea how small a company they are. I’ve heard from the owner that for some items in some sizes there might only be two pieces available.
Having said that, most items in more popular sizes (such as jackets in 40R) tend to be available for enough time that you don’t need to sit there and try to buy it within the minutes it’s posted online. It is true that you do need to check for new item drops and news on SF or their blog/email list. Don’t expect things to necessarily continue to be available a month or two after they are released.
