Any Omega Nerds Out There

So,

I came across a lot of watches for sale on ebay, and noticed this guy sitting among some interesting, but not overly expensive watches. Currently, the lot itself is worth the bid, for some fun, low end automatics that I'd wear, but if this is a legit watch, it's WELL worth a bid.



I'm assuming this is fake; it's got Planet Ocean styling to it, but I'm 99% certain there's not an orange bezel Planet Ocean with the date at 4 and full arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, but I'm willing to be wrong if anyone knows more than I do.

Anyone have any input on fake or real on this guy?

My guess is fake, since Omega's page shows it with their white logo, not black, and different chronograph dial numbers. Also the eBay one has no lume pip on the bezel, might have fallen off, but probably never was one to begin with.

On the fake one - What could that subdial at 9:00 be measuring, with the numbers 2 and 5 on it where they are? I can't think of anything with that sort of scale - 1/8 of a second or something?

Now I'm curious too. 14 tick marks, with "2" at the 4th mark and "5" at the 10th mark. What could that possibly be?

I was thinking yacht timer but who knows.

If each tick were 30 minutes then the digits would represent hours, with the dial covering 7 hours. Wonder if 7 hours is significant in the boating world.
