    Cordovan leather...worth it?

I bought a pair of Allen Edmonds Cordovan shoes to see what the rage about cordovan was. They are nice, but 2-3x the price of an a calfskin shoe nice? Hmm...not so sure. Your guy's thoughts?

Yea I got them used. It's the Macneils in Burgundy. Got them to see how Cordovan is like and maybe influence a future purchase. I feel calk skin feel just as good tho

Cordovan has a lot of perks. They wear much much longer than calfskin. With proper care, calfskin is said to be good for anywhere from 10-20 years depending on the quality. Cordovan will literally last your entire life (and longer) if cared for properly. It does not develop micro-creases that over time turn to cracks. Also, it is naturally waterproof.

Did you make this thread just to mess with us? Did you really get excellent condition Shell Cordovan MacNeils for 8 bucks?

            Life is unfair.

              For $8 it's a steal.

Used shoes still irk me for some reason, but all things considered they look great.
