I should have linked to the home page because there is a "minimalist" version now which is what I use/referred to: https://www.thewatchsteward.com/
It's definitely less bulk than erika's and doesn't involve the strap going under the watch (increasing the watch height)
I made my own Watch Steward minimalist style strap with a lanyard from Amazon and the hardware from an Erika's original I had replaced under warranty. Best watch strap I've ever made. On 22mm lugs, but it fits 20mm lugs perfectly.
For cheap, experimenting, variety - cheapestnatostraps, for sure.
For higher quality NATOs - BluShark is fantastic. Great material and nice, beefy hardware.
I have one cork strap from Portugal that is interesting. Seeing this topic reminds me to get that one on a watch this summer. https://www.corkwatchstraps.com/
I forgot about blushark, good catch. They are legit.

Those are a lot like Erika's Originals MN straps, except that his buckles at the ends, vs Erika's where you put your hand through the loop and buckle it back onto itself.
Thanks for that link! Nice to see similar strap I can buy stateside for less than half the price.
But if you haven't tried Erika's version, you should give it a shot. Even less bulk than the watch steward ones.

1. no bulk under the watch
2. elastic band
3. sliding adjuster, no set holes so easy to customize
4. of all similar types of straps, this one has the least bulk
5. lots of variety of colors
6. of this type of strap, it is relatively cheap

A good brand for quality leather NATOs and rustic 2-pieces is MiLTAT. Beefy, well made and wear like iron - and reasonably priced. I have several and they've never let me down. You can find them on StrapCode and elsewhere: https://www.strapcode.com/search?type=product&q=miltat*
Thanks for the recs! idvsego I've got some homework now
if you dont mind a waiting list or putting up some decent sized bucks, Drunk Art Straps does amazing canvas work. I am too cheap and impatient to get anew one but have almost picked up used examples when they popped up. Something always stopped me though
I have a Hirsch leather strap on my Bambino. It is the third strap I've had on it and it has lasted the longest. It feels really nice after a brief break in period and works really well.
