What was your first Dappered purchase?

For me it was the Sebago Hamiltons, followed shortly by a Target rugby.

I would read the Style Blogger every once in a while, but Dappered seemed more down-to-earth, but still stylish, classy, sharp. What was your first purchase thanks to an article or post?

Pretty sure it was some shirts on sale at JCrew factory. I think I spent around $110 on 5 shirts.

The so-called "best winter sweater" from American Eagle.

      Hated it.

I think it was the Sebago Hamilton boots too. Or this knit tie, featured more than once on the site.

I still wear that AE sweater a lot. First time I bought a size small...that's been a permanent shift.

My first Dappered purchase was the U.O. vest featured as #2: http://dappered.com/2012/04/how-to-wear-it-the-blue-chambray-shirt/

Ive bought a couple of small items listed here, and quite a few items very similar to things listed here but different in some ways. Its been more of an inspiration and guide than a direct line to purchase, for me.

My first would be some LEC bits and pieces - most of which didn't fit well at all. However, subsequent purchases from other sources have been awesome.

I think my first pair of chinos, from LEC. Thinking back, my style really has improved quite a bit in the last few months.

I would've bought that vest! I was particularly impressed with that blue chambray shirt post, actually. Had I seen that thing in the store, I would've called it hideous and maybe made a reference to Night at the Roxbury. Instead, I happened upon it on sale and bought it! I'd never wear it alone, but with a sport coat or a sweater, it's actually a surprisingly nice splash of... sheen.

Anyway, I'm not sure I remember what mine was. I want to say LEC but I read about that on SF. Honestly, I was reading the site for probably a month or two before my first purchase due to a post here. I'd say that the impact it had on my purchasing decisions on websites and in stores I happened to go to on my own were near immediate, though. I've found the general guidelines pretty indispensable, but the actual links he gives are usually unnecessary for me; I check enough of the same sites often enough that I usually know about them before, or would know about them shortly after, I see them on here. Though I do like that he sifts through a lot of the junk and finds the nice stuff!

I found Dappered when searching about Indochino because I got their Living Social $50 for $150 and ended up getting the Ultimate Gray Suit due to Joe's recommendation.

Some polos from Lands' End Canvas when Joe posted about one of their stock room clearance sales. I actually returned all of them a bit after when I realized that they didn't fit me properly.

But so far the best thing I've gotten in one was the Clad sale.
