Wearing my Herring Premier full brogue single monk strap in walnut today for a meeting with our tax lawyer to try to figure out what business entity form to take. Highly recommend this line of Herring shoes--quality is good, upper leather is soft, no imperfections in the construction, and if you wait for a sale, you can get them for about $330.
Break-in has been a little bit difficult, because the sole seems pretty stiff.
But the 11UK F fits like a US 12.5 D which is perfect for me and so hard to find.
Besides liking the way the walnut color pops, I just love that I’ve never see anyone wearing full brogue monk straps.

Beautiful shoes. You are right, have never really seen anyone wearing full brogue monk straps. If I buy a monk strap, it will be something like this.

Amazing color (socks here really look great with them too)
I think these are C&J. I tried the burgundy version of this shoe a couple of years back (didn't quite fit me right) and they were on the 341 last, which is one of the more common ones for Crockett & Jones. Nice shoes!

Very unique design. I like the style. Do you have any idea who makes these for Herring (I believe Alfred Sargent & Cheaney make most of their stuff). I have the Herring Premier James loafer (by AS), which, as you mention, is made to high standards. I picked them up last spring when Herring had a free shipping & returns offer on U.S. orders. Not sure how often they run that special but if anyone is new to some of the brands that they carry, it could be a low-risk chance to try something out.

Thanks! I actually had to stretch the toe out on the right shoe as they are a touch narrow. Now they fit like a dream. The color on the pic shows them as more orange than they truly are. They are more light brown/red in real life.

But it appears they use other manufacturers as well:
Through these contacts we launched our own range of footwear made for us by Northamptonshire factories including Barker, Cheaney, Loake, Trickers and Alfred Sargent. Alongside other specialist factories around the world we use the best manufacturer for each style of shoe we create and pass the benefit of our knowledge and experience on to the customer.
However, this very similar style is made by Cheaney:
I was very impressed with the packaging as well. Not only did the shoes come with free dust bags, but also a shoe horn, AND shoe creme--on sale for $100 off the list price. Oh, and I'm pretty sure the shipping was free (I'm in the USA).
One more thing: Herring seems to have at least two lines: Classic and Premier--Classic is significantly less expensive than Premier, so I'm not sure what you get with the Classic line.

Those are great! I've been waiting 3 months now for my button boots from Justin Fitzpatrick. Now I'm sad
Thanks! Did you MTO with Justin? He usually quotes 4 months in hopes of under-promising and over-delivering. I'm sure you'll have them soon Allot an extra 5 minutes in the morning to get dressed as you learn how to use the hook!

Yes, I did MTO with Justin and I may have gone over the top with two-tone black/burgundy and full brogue.
At any rate, the website says three to four months; I was hoping to get them in three months to have them for a Victorian/Edwardian theme costume ball this weekend, but it looks like that won't happen.
I ordered when he was in the transition from just being a UK company to a North American/UK company, so that may have pushed it out to the longer time frame of four months instead of three.
It takes that long to get those things buttoned, eh? Oh well, they will look great, so it's worth it!
