    Target - the new Bonobos?

I just saw this on Target's web site:

Um, what? I guess it could be great for some sort of costume...

@Jessy, yeah the blue is the only color I'd even consider wearing in a normal situation. But the buttoning point of the jackets is too high for my tastes.

I saw these online a while back, but couldn't tell much from pics, nor have I seen them in-store. I would like to give the blue and teal pants a try.

I'm very curious if Brooks Brothers actually sells any of those.

The V is very high but the lapel rolls quite a bit above the actual button, based on those photos, so you might be able to reroll the lapels and have it pressed for a better look.

The dude in the violet suit for the model photos looks like a bizzaro ice cream man. I could see him selling gelato out of a cart. I posted on here not too long ago, curious about dyeing jackets (my inspiration being the LBM 1911 jackets for this season) but I was never willing to risk a retail jacket. I'll be curious to check them out. I agree that I probably wouldn't wear any of these as a suit except for the blue bayou, but the rest of the colors (possibly minus violet and yellow) would look quite good as a sport coat with chinos, most especially white ones. Ideal for some bold weekend wear.

It looks like they might be lined though, which would kind of kill it. Also not a fan of pocket flaps on patch pockets. And thats in addition to whether or not the lapel could be acceptably re-rolled. Also would like to see the consistency of the fabric since I prefer casual blazers like this to have a bit of texture.

I picked up this 'red' jacket from ASOS during their big memorial day sale: http://us.asos.com/ASOS-Slim-Fit-Sui...Y2tldC9Qcm9kLw.. I wanted to hate it and return it right away but it fits pretty good as-is and is unlined and THIN. Its truly ideal for summer and I can even get away with wearing it during the day in Florida heat. The color isn't really red, its more of a coral. I've paired it with khakis and white chinos, and I have had oodles of strangers coming up to compliment me. Its fashionably short but I am only 5'8'' so it adequately covers enough of my behind (I will need the sleeves taken up).

I can get one for every day of the week!

@VespaMatt, could you provide the size you bought and measurements (shoulders seam to seam and overall length starting from the bottom of the collar) for the Asos jacket? I was looking at a similar jacket in navy, but wasn't sure if the 34 would be small enough, so I might be able to interpolate the 34 with your data.

Target is not the new Bonobos. They're not charging $300 for that blazer.

I really dislike the white buttons. Something more understated like brown tortoise would work well IMO. Depending on the shade, I could be into the red jacket. I might drop in tomorrow and see if they are in stores. Is it weird that none of the pants come in 34 inseam?

I saw them in store last week. Way too loud. Maybe the blue one if you take lots of risks, but the red is bright.

You know what they looked like? The costumes for a theme-park barber shop quartet -- the kind that all ride on the same four-person bike while singing.

Yeah, this isn't that surprising. Anyone notice those 1MX-looking shirts they had for a while? They might still have them, but last time I checked, the sizes were pretty depleted. Black buttons, semi-stretch cotton/spandex blend, French placket, and all the colors they came in looked pretty Expressy, too - lots of bright orange, teal, blue, purple, etc. They're definitely trying to work their way into some other areas of the market, and for those prices I wouldn't be surprised if it worked out for them! My biggest problem with a lot of this new stuff they're doing is that a) it's only available online. I've never seen any of those shirts in-store, so it's kind of hard to try them out and gauge their fit. And b) their website is abysmal. I use Chrome, but even in Firefox or Safari, it's buggy, the sorting options are limited and frequently not very helpful, and the photos they provide are lackluster. If you're only going to offer a lot of these new options online, you've at least gotta have a more usable website. They're definitely not the new Bonobos in terms of ease of use for shopping and ordering online.
