Sorry for the delayed response. I previously had a pair of Chuck Taylors and the JPs are a big step up in comfort IMO. They also run basically true to size instead of the weird over-sizing of the CTs. Granted, my CTs were pretty old (possibly before Nike purchased Converse?), so maybe they're better these days.

Well with the AE anniversary sale I did pick up a pair of boots. But I live in Canada! So boots are kind of like breathing. They are needed to live.

I was going to pick up another pair of shoes during the sale too, but never got around to it. And now that the sale is over, well so much for that spend!

I did stock up on underwear though. I picked up five pairs of Uniqlo Airism boxers. Trying them out to see if they are to be my go-to brand. I want to give SAXX a try too.

i definitely have a few shoes i have to send to AE recrafting though. I'll probably spend more on recrafts than actual shoes this year. I have a whole bunch coming up at the same time, unfortunately but what can you do :-D

I've been struggling to find my pair of perfect casual sneakers for ages and have bought the odd pair here and there only to find that I rarely ever wear them. The Jack Purcells fit the bill perfectly and I'm getting a ton of use out of them.

Rado Capt Cook Mk2. Everything about it is so right. I don't regret the money I spent at all.

Really wish I didn't see this. I've been lusting over the Rado Capt Cook Hyperchrome but haven't been able to justify the price. The Mk2 is really cool too. Would love to see a pic in the WWIWT thread.

Goodfellow's green wool trench coat. Keeps me warm and looks much more expensive than it is.

Also sidegrading from an Apple Watch to a Fossil Q hybrid watch. Less overall functionality, but it does everything I need it to, and looks 100% better.

Best score was a Daniel Cremieux wool coat. I needed a smart casual coat that was a step down from a true overcoat like you'd wear with a suit and this thing nailed it. $700 list, $500 retail on sale. I got it for a hundred bucks on eBay in like new condition.

Spier & Mackay wool/cashmere overcoat. The two-roll-three buttoning sets it apart from most others in that category. Really sleek.

But my best purchase? Probably some Target henleys and corduroy pants. Target is absolutely nailing it in terms of bang for buck. Whoever is curating their collection really knows what they're doing.

For 2019 I see myself being in a holding pattern. Maybe a purchase of new pair of AE shoes/boots if the mood strikes. But no really huge investments. I'm in a good space with my wardrobe now. I WILL replace a lot of my socks and underwear though. Per an earlier thread, out with the boxers, in with sport boxers.

Pretty sure 2016 my New Years goal was not to buy clothing. I sold about 2000$ worth on the forums and eBay, sold my house and moved and traveled down the worm hole of buying a new house.

Ever since I bought and started working on the house I really stopped buying clothing besides very specific items which were planned out and all rationalized though. Replacement sweatshirt to replace a destroyed hoodie, AE Surrey to replace my destroyed Clark’s. Two polos for work from Polo outlet.

2019 I also see as not being a big clothing year again. Hopefully sell some stuff again with a big eBay purge. Maybe sell a couple watches since the market is prime to sell.

Th it's is such a great question. It is either my Redwing iron ranger in Amber Harness, or my Gustin Olive Twill Duffle. No wait my Hardwick suit I bought on a new year's Eve sale that fits better off the rack than my made to measure suits at half the price.

It's been a big year of shopping.

I'd say my best was picking up a Gustin waxed trucker jacket. I got it in summer when I found a nice deal and couldn't really wear it until October. But then I wore it for the rest of the calendar year and was very happy.
