Taking care of Allen Edmonds Higgins Mill

Do people go through the recommended care instructions of saddle soap, cream polish, and speed polish or is there a simplified care routine that works for people?

Chromexcel leather just needs to be wiped down if dirty and brushed with a horsehair shoe brush after each wear.

If the leather is looking dry you can use one of several leather conditioners.

I clean mine off with a damp cloth when they have too much beer and vodka tonics splattered on them. Sometimes I will condition them with AE lotion. Rarely I will put a little AE chili polish on the most scuffed areas. I don't brush them after I wear them, but I use trees.

Man a lot of variation among people here. I give 'em a quick brush and any area with a scuff type mark gets some extra care with my shoe microfiber cloth. Maybe once every 3-4 months of once a week wear, they get a small amount of neutral shoe cream. Easiest to care for shoes I own.

I've never done anything to mine over the past 2+ years. They look great. Maybe I'll give them a horsehair or microfiber wipedown or something...

I emailed AE about this and they suggested:
"We recommend the Leather lotion and the cotton flannel polishing cloth for caring for your Higgins Mills boots.

It has worked pretty well on my pair - makes them look a lot "newer" though, which might not be what you are looking for.
