    What shoes are these?

I've been wondering about this for a long time now, but today's update finally reminded me that I could just ask other people.

Joe posted this photo in the Dockers sale update (unrelated note, but I've tried on the D1 and found them to be super baggy and noticeably flared at the leg opening. I don't get how people wear them and look good! They were like bell-bottoms on me). What boots are those on the left photo, with the gray Alpha khakis? I'm leaning towards some kind of Timberland Earthkeeper, but they don't have the zipper, I think they might be missing a cap toe, I can't quite see the Timberland logo and the Dockers website doesn't allow for zooming on the side photo, and I can't find record of a non-zip lace-up Earthkeeper coming in that color. Any help would be great! They're exactly the type of boot I'm looking for.

Maybe just good old Clarks desert boots ?

It's hard to tell from the picture, but to me they look more like chukkas/desert boots. No clue what brand it is but almost everyone makes one these days (Clarks Desert Boot, AE Malvern, etc).

Desert boots huh? It's funny, I have multiple pairs and for some reason pictured these going much further up the calf than desert boots do. But you might be right! I zoomed and cropped so it'd be easier to look:

They do seem like they might have a crepe sole, but the shape of them doesn't look anything like the Clarks desert boots I have, or the beeswax Clarks I've seen online.

Yeah, not Clarks - I see at least three rows of eyelets poking out and I believe thats a lugged sole on them.

Man, that's a real mystery, 3 eyelet shoe with rubber sole(?) and some crepe midsole(?)...might be a good question for the SF's S&D crowd.
