@nicholascrawford they have something like that at my local mall, haven't tried it but it is absolutey an interesting concept. It's called Me-Ality.

Yup, thats exactly what I would like it for. If I was shelling out $800+ for a MTM suit, I would still like to have a personal experience with a tailor, but, if I were going the $300 with a free shirt and tie Indochino route, this would guarantee more careful measurements, and lower the chances of a mishap.

Likewise with OTR clothing from online retailers, you could place a piece of their clothing over your frame to see how it would fit, and you could make purchases with more confidence. I think it would help boom online sales, because I know a lot of the people I talk to are surprised I shop online, as they all express fear in receiving ill fitting clothing, and the hastle that is returning clothes via post.

That's incredible. Another use of that technology would be for OTR clothes. You could scan yourself and find out if an LEC, Nordstrom, or BR button up shirt would fit your frame best. Same with jeans, etc.

I applied to a company making a similar service. I think it's an interesting thing, but I doubt it will be as successful as a real person.

    This was pretty cool.

Basically, your kinect could measure you, and you can request fully customized clothing, MTM, view it on your body, and purchase it. A lot of us do online shopping, and I think this would be a really cool idea. Fit is always something we worry about, and this would likely lessen those fears.

The video only showed tshirts being made, but it is likely this will be applied to more complicated garments such as sportcoats or suits without much difficulty. What do you guys think? Theres something to be said for visiting a tailor, and the true person to person experience of it all, but for quicker online purchases, or in comparison to some of the more hands off MTM services such as Indochino, it seems like a very good alternative!
