Brethren, all dressed up with no place to go.......*a different kind of thread*

    It has happened.

With the help of my Dappered brethren, I have developed a great selection of clothing with no place to wear them.

I have been laid off and it sucks!

    Demos:

    Live in DC

Work in Finance (Risk/ Finance Management, Accounts Receivables, Credit, etc.)

Well- educated (about to start Masters in Finance next month)

    10 year solid work experience

This is a different kind of thread for such a forum but I figure "F*$k it" and see if anyone has any connections.

Any and all advice (and eventual criticism of this type of post) is appreciated.

Sorry to hear. I know how expensive it can be to live in the DMV-area. Good luck with the search.

@Los, appreciate the sentiment. I am keeping my nose to the grindstone and remaining open to any and all help.

@tomservo, appreciate any and all help.

How senior of a position are you looking for?

My company has a few financial analyst and senior financial analyst positions open (in DC), but they are probably too junior for you.

That sucks. :-S Wish I could help, but I'm nowhere nearby and in a totally different field. But at least you've got a killer interview suit, right? :-)

@zero, considering my situation, I am pretty much open to all opportunities. I would be interested in a FA or Sr. FA position. Must note that at my last gig (Finance Manager), I managed a staff of 3 to 4 employees. Can I ask what part of town you work?

              @Alan, YOU KNOW IT!!!

Heafcliffe, are you still looking? Have a lead through my alumni group for a place called Siegfried group. Don't know much about it other than it seems to be in your area of expertise. What's your e-mail we can discuss further if you want.

Heafcliffe, I feel you brother. I'm in the Atlanta area, and have kept busy thrift-flipping and exploring starting an app business while I look for permanent work.

                      Here are my stats:

Law background (graduated 2007) with a certificate in intellectual property

Worked in tax consulting (R&D tax credits) for ~3 years

Would appreciate any advice and leads too!
