    Denim Jacket Suggestions?

I'm recently warming up to the idea of getting one of those slim denim jackets does anyone have any good suggestions less than $100?

Have you thought about thrifting one? There also seem to be plenty on ebay for under $30. I think denim jackets look much better worn in, and if you have fit issues you can get it tailored and still come out ahead price-wise.

    Just a thought.

I was OBSESSED with getting a denim jacket. Everyone kept telling me to go to thrift stores but if your thrift stores are like mine, then every jean jacket you'll find will be XXL. I was able to score an awesome 'vintage' Levis jacket on eBay for $30 shipped. I'm not sure how old it is but its Made in America and from back when the jackets were sized as 36,38,40, etc... it fits me PERFECT. Like Chris said, the denim jackets look and feel better worn in. I have a black Levis trucker jacket from last season (thats too big on me now) but it never broke in and is still stiff as hell.

Etsy also has a lot of listings for used/vintage denim jackets.

For new, the Levis jacket is a good bet.

I don't know the quality of ASOS but they have a few denim jackets for under $100 on their site.

Gap has one this season but its got a zipper instead of buttons, http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do...scid=136241002

I thrifted a vintage levis one a while back, myself. Size 38. I haven't ever worn it, though. 2 things are making me uneasy about wearing it: 1: It is a medium stonewash blue, which is often associated with dad jeans 2: it has those super low arm holes that lots of jackets used to have, especially leather ones.

thanks for the suggestions guys. I really want a darker denim jacket though because as Big_Scooter mentioned I'm scared about the lighter washes. I think I might just go to the levis store in soho when I finish finals and go home to nyc in a couple weeks and buy the jacket... if i can wait that long.

Lighter denim on top is fine. ESPECIALLY if you're ballsy enough to do the tres cool double denim.

Flying squirrel armholes, however, may be a problem.

Anyone have some fresh suggestions for this? I've tried Gap, Levis, and JCrew's and they all seem to fit oddly or are boxy. Really want something that fits slim but isn't a $250 designer label, if it exists. Anyone had any good luck?

Not opposed to the Levis, either, but seem to be somewhere in that between S/M size range. 38/L in suits range, for instance.

I have the Express Fashion Star that came out last year; incredible slim fit compared to the other denim jackets (Topman, GAP, Guess) I've owned.
