    Henley Suggestions?

Any suggestions for inexpensive summer weight Henleys? I got a converse henley at Target on sale, but small is still too big on me, especially once its stretched out after wearing it for a bit. Old Navy's lighter colored ones have some sort of faux branding on the upper chest area.

As much as I dislike the company, I love AA henleys. I have a pair from GAP as well, but the AA ones are more fitted and feel great. Lately, I've been wearing short sleeve henleys instead of a t-shirt or polo.

Fun piece of trivia - Dexter's kill outfit is made up of the long sleeve version in 'Army'

Huh, Ben that first link with the white SS henley reminds me of a 1910 baseball jersey. In a good way.

Thoughts on how to wear a henley? I gave away mine after being unable to find a way to wear them that I liked.

You can wear the short sleeve in place of a t-shirt for casual wear - with jeans or chinos and sneakers, for example. You can wear a long sleeve by itself or over a contrasting crewneck t-shirt when it's a little cooler. I like to wear a LS henley over a polo shirt for a casual version of the v-neck sweater/button-up shirt.

Henleys are strictly casual. They work best if you think of them as upgraded t-shirts - best for weekends, cracking open a beer on the porch, tossing a frisbee at the park, etc.

Over a polo? That would be unique... Seems like placket stacked on placket. I'd be interested in trying the SS on its own, though.

"Unique"... well, it's true I haven't really seen others doing it but I think it looks ok.

I guess you could layer the henley over a casual button-up, as well.

There aren't many items that fit the casual long-sleeve bill outside of button-up sport shirts and sweaters. Worth experimenting! I'm not a big fan of long-sleeve polos, so I'm always wondering what other options or combos are out there.

Cannon - I don't even have to see your username anymore! Your posts are so classic. =D

Perfect example of an upgrade over a white crewneck t-shirt. Says the guy wearing a white crewneck t-shirt for painting right now. I mean, for a Fight Club meeting.

@nicholascrawford Haha! Well, I try to be consistent!

I agree it is a nice upgrade on white t-shirts. Sort of a white t-shirt's dad that looks just complex enough to be seen in public and not judged as your underwear.

I really want to pull the trigger on a couple henley's but I'm scared that it's gonna fit too tight. I'm like 5'7 170 former high school running back current college rugby player and i usually wear smalls in T's but the one time I tried on a henley I thought it looked...questionable. Everyone at my college calls me a hipster for wearing tighter clothes anyway so I'm scared of the damage a skintight henley could do... but mediums are always too baggy haha sorry if this has just become a rant

If you are fit, a henley should be slim on you and they tend to show your form. They shouldn't be tight, but they generally are cut slim on purpose.
