Hamilton made chronographs to spec for the UK MoD back in the 1970's. I just got (for cheap on close-out) the Khaki Pioneer Auto Chrono they released starting around 2012. It's an homage - the case is a little bigger, and the H-31 (Hamilton's version of the Lemania 7753) makes it a lot thicker than the hand-wound original. Still, it puts out a military issue vibe for me. I put mine on a gray NATO. It's running about +4 seconds per day, which is pretty dang good...

It’s a great watch and feel like it can be dressed up or down. Sandwich dial is even more impressive in person and the details are so well executed. For $400ish, it delivers a ton of value for money.

Even if you pick one up and don’t bond with it, the resale prices should ensure you don’t lose much on the purchase price.
