idvsego how goes the hunt for an outdoors/GPS watch to track your hikes and outdoor activities? Have you narrowed it down at all?

Something a little different today... the Mondaine Stop2Go Swiss railroad watch.

For those unfamiliar with the hand motion of this fun watch, check out this link to Mondaine's video:

        Low light watch shot.

Handed the Blue Angels Nighthawk off to my brother and grabbed a vanilla one for myself. The contrast between the black dial and steel bezel helps this one wear a tiny bit smaller. Super cool watches.

Ready to bunker down for the Rolex wait in earnest now...

I’ve been eyeing these for a while. Did you go Auto or Quartz?
Don’t call what your wearing an outfit. Don’t ever say your car is broke.
Don’t sing with a fake British accent. Don’t act like your family’s a joke.

I have not really. Once I make it past getting the kids christmas stuff I will put some more thought into it.

Mondaine does make a few automatic models with traditional hand motion, but for the unique pause-start second/minute hand motion of the Stop2Go, they use a specialized dual-motor quartz movement. I've had it for a few years now and it's been very reliable.

I have been in a pretty solid 2 watch rotation (Hamilton Field/Gshock) since it started getting cooler but a trip into the office and black shoes (GASP) dictated a change...

Wow. Now THAT is a nice watch. There has been a huge price spike in Daytona's of late.
