    As an FYI, if the time comes when the LCD decays to the point of illegibility, replacement movements can be found online and they aren't overly difficult to swap. Here's a Seiko LCD swap I did for a friend who inherited this watch from his father:

    Finally got a new battery for my 1977 Seiko 0532-5008. Part of the LCD screen decayed leaving a black mark but it was a gift so a lot of sentimental value.

    Alpina hybrid smartwatch. I chuckle as the hands politely move out of the way whenever I push a button to read one of the digital display functions.

    Ended up replacing the Hodinkee Nomos with this Globemaster.
