Thanks Nandyn I'll check them out.
ajs116 yeah, I did a fair amount of research trying to decide what style of Submariner I was interested in purchasing. After looking around at the different options and styles, my interests landed on this particular model of the 14060. Then it was a matter of price, availability, and of course finding the right seller. Just over two weeks in and no regrets!
I bought the ceramic no date sub but realized it wasn't for me. I wanted the older 5 digit serial sub. I just happened to come across a NOS date version. Don't know if I would have preferred the no date version more, but I like the one I have just fine.
What do you think about your sub compared to your Speedmaster? I know this is a big debate but would love to hear your thoughts.
There's not much of a debate. I'd say the Sub wins hands down due to having better proportions. This could be different for someone else who would have different size wrists. Besides that, they are 2 very different watches so it's hard to compare.
Not a mechanical watch... I have a collection of those. My only two non-mechanical watches in my collection are a Soviet era Electronika (acquired in Uzbekistan, a story in of itself) from the early 1980s and this Garmin Fenix 5x which is technically a “smart watch”. Has GPS, altimeter etc...
This watch is my go to for four things. Running, hiking, skiing and activities where I think a mechanical watch might take too much of a beating.

I’ve really been digging gold (both pink and yellow) recently. A solid gold watch is out of the budget so I figured I’d splash around in the shallow end of the price range instead.
