Same modded Invicta (by idvsego), different band...+ Klear Kare crystal protector.

The protectors really are crystal clear. Just put it on so hasn't cured yet but it's already nearly invisible. Plus, it helps to have a contaminant free area via laminar flow hood. Added bonus: smudges/finger oils don't really show on the protector.

Yep, the lens paper and a drop of cleaning solution for our microscopes. I use Kim Wipes to blow my nose, that's all they're good for. Our hood is in a separate, locked room and we sterilize it before/after each use. But aside from that, I'm the only one coming into work for the next week and a half so got the lab to myself.

Anyone have a recommendation for a dappered budget approved watch with date, no numbers, good lume, and under 40mm? I'm thinking a non-dive watch (no rotating bezel) with the same chunky indices would be cool. Sort of like a Rolex Milgauss maybe?

No numbers, under 40 but good lume...that might be a tougher find. no numbers and under 40 is usually dress watch territory and they traditionally dont have a lot of lume. A Sarb033 might be too dressy but its a solid watch that ticks most of your boxes. If tht is too much, any of the seiko 5s are great values and are typically 38mm. Check out http://www.watchsleuth.com/seiko5finder/

bernhadt has minimal numbers and the case is supposed to be very nice

There are some lesser known waterbury's that are nice too...but have numbers and no lume. But indiglo is pretty awesome actually.

How bout a 38mm Seiko 5 80x series (805, 809, etc, whatever is cheapest) and swap in a dial like: http://www.dagazwatch.com/apps/webst.../show/7484881# or http://www.dagazwatch.com/apps/webst...s/show/7630160 ? ~$60 for the watch, $20-$32 for the dial. and swap hands too to one you like...I'm sure there's at least one person on here that could help you out with it!

I mean...I know a guy that can do that for a reasonable price. Hands too. possibly a sapphire dome as well. But if you can find an SNKL05, 07, or 09 then I think it will fit your needs out of the box...except its 42mm I think. dang. so close.

Sounds like you want a sport watch, but not a dive watch, which has a date and is otherwise simple. May have issues finding under 40mm due to trends, but....

Orient Bambino hits all the marks except lume and slightly cheating on size. https://www.orientwatchusa.com/shop/...es/fer24005w0/

Seiko probably has some models that are pretty close, like the following which is under 40mm:
                  https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNXS77-.../dp/B0033CQNEE

Lastly, you might also look at some ranger/field watches. Those typically have some numbers involved on the dial, so might not be perfect, but that's effectively what the Milgauss / Explorer / OP line does well.

EDIT: Took too long and others responded ahead, which is why this is reiterating a lot of points...

@idsvego Nandyn hornsup84 thanks for the ideas guys! I'm definitely trying to stay away from dress watch territory. The Seiko SNKL07 is pretty darn close to exactly what I want. According to watchsleuth the diameter is 37mm without the crown http://www.watchsleuth.com/seiko5fin...ch/?MOD=SNKL07. Unfortunately they are out of production and hard to find, $149 at amazon and no hits on ebay. https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNKL07-.../dp/B0051VOHE8

Of the other suggestions, the Timex Waterbury is pretty slick. Especially since you can customize it.

so just curious...what is your budget? You said "dappered budget" but joe suggests watches that range from $60-600.

Well, I'm a long time lurker on this thread but I've never posted. But I figured I should pass this along...
The Invicta Pro Diver 8926OB that has been featured on the main site several times and has shown up here in modded versions by a few guys is currently going for under $56 on Amazon.

                        https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000JQFX1G...=3SSDQG32P61G3

As has been stated in a few posts above, there may be a guy willing to mod one for someone for a reasonable price...

Definitely under $200. Regarding the SNKL07, I think I'm just irked that a Seiko 5 would cost more than $100. Plus I read the bracelet is garbage so would want to get a nice leather strap for it.

Figured I owed you all a wrist shot since my first post to this thread was...not.

Seiko SNK803 I got in August when Amazon inexplicably had the price down to a hair under $40.

                              Cheers!
