Very nice watch. I'm definitely going to have to add one to my collection.

In the meantime it's a speedy kind of day.

Purged the collection, so from now on, you guys will have a 1/3 chance of guessing which watch I'm wearing! All Orient, L to R the mako, adventurer and polaris.

Mako is the beater, adventurer is the versatile mid range and polaris is the dressier watch.

I can wear a brown strap with about 80% of my shoes and natos with the other 20% or when I get bored of the polaris.

Took inspiration from Vicious49's clearing of watches. I will eventually, and much more deliberately add more.

For those curious, this is what I sold off:
Seiko SNZJ57 (have a buyer)
Hamilton Khaki King (have a buyer)
Orient Bambino (sold)
Orient Explorer (still for sale)

That's a pretty versatile group. Should serve you well. What are you hoping to add to it?

Nice! I actually just picked up an Oris Divers Sixty Five. I'm a sucker for vintage looking watches. I have like 6 watches I need to unload.

- Tudor North Flag
- Tag F1
- VSA Infantry Vintage
- vintage Longines that's not worth it for me to service
- Hamilton Jazzmaster
- that Huckberry watch I have up in the BST

Nothing is striking me as a "next purchase" right now, but I have a few items I'm feeling out.

orient mako usa II with white dial:

OR

Christopher ward trident diver (i need the 38 mm one, the 42 was way too large):

hamilton jazzmaster chrono (been lusting after this one for awhile, so it's very close to next):
https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8688/...0748d6d9_o.jpg

orient star with blue dial:
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...91eb158f40.jpg

OR I might just save up and go after the omega aqua terra:
https://www.omegawatches.com/images/...1_1600x900.jpg

and my newest lust I just discovered last night, the super limited edition orient GMT:
https://i199.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3bfab4c3.jpg

At over 1k, the orient GMT and omega aqua terra are probably years away from purchase. Think the hamilton will add the most versatility to my collection. But I might upgrade my mako to one of the divers first. Regardless, I'm going to hold off on watch purchases for at least a year/the forseeable future.

Scofield do you have a source for that Orient star? If it's the one I think it is, it's been discontinued for a while but I love it.

I believe you are correct, but it seems to pop up on ebay frequently enough. Believe there's one up now if you wanted to go for it.

I'd also be ok with the orient star gmt with blue dial:

or the version of the orient star but with the power reserve indicator:

Damn you drocpsu! Each time you post that watch I feel myself slipping closer and closer to picking one up!

Scofield Out of the watches to listed, I'd go for the Omega. But then again I'm a bit of an Omega fanboy, so I might be biased

How do you like it? It's on my list.

It's light on the wrist and has a pretty slim profile. I like the 40 mm diameter, especially since it has straight lugs. The rubber strap is very comfortable. Unfortunately for me I'm in between holes on the strap. I've been wearing it loose but hasn't bothered me too much. Due to the lightweight of the watch it doesn't seem to be too big an issue. The face is . . . different. I like it because it looks retro and unlike most other watches on the market. I have read complaints about the domed crystal causing legibility issues because it reflects everything. It is not as clear as my other watches but I've had no issues telling time with it.

The big questions is - is it a keeper? It's too early to tell. I could tell right away with the IWC that it was a keeper. The dial on that one is stunning. The 2531 (once I get the micro-adjust clap so I can get a comfortable fit) will be a keeper because it is so versatile. The Oris . . . I like it now but who knows if I'll feel differently once the novelty of it wears off. Only time will tell (pun intended).
