  • Burgundy Belt

Hey guys. I'm in Canada and looking for a belt to match my burgundy Herring Attlee double monks (http://www.thebroguetrader.com/media...522-5037-1.jpg) at least reasonably well. Anyone have a recommendation for where I should look? I haven't been able to find anything that really works yet unless I go into the really expensive ($100+) belts.

    Thanks!

I picked this one up from Amazon but you can also find it on Belts.com. I bought the belt to match the Banana Republic Wyatt Italian Monk straps and the color match is spot on.

I bought an awesome casual burgundy belt at target. Made in the USA, really good leather quality. If memory serves, it was like $14.99. Will post a pic later if anyone is interested.

Yes, post a picture please. I've been looking for an affordable burgundy belt as well. No luck. Target online sure didn't have what you're speaking of.

The $14.99 belts I have seen at target are bonded leather with a polyurethane coating. Look nice enough, but they don't last all that long.

That said, PU/bicast leather is one way to inexpensively match shoes you won't wear all that often and thus won't need the belt all that often. However, if you are going to wear the shoes a lot, I would stay away from this as you will end up replacing that $14.99 belt enough times to make the $100 belt seem like a better idea.

Have you checked the Allen Edmonds shoebank for belts? Orion belts on ebay?

Current Orion burgundy lineup and factory prices are good:

Nope, this was Made in the USA, genuine leather. It's possible I'm wrong on price, but don't think so.

I have a $10 casual belt from Walmart I picked up in an emergency that is one solid piece of real leather with a bison look grain to it and a roller buckle. It's not an equal to my AE belts but it doesn't look like the cheap PoS it is either.

Johnston and Murphy have a burgundy belt that will match your shoes. I bought one from their outlet store for about $30.

The one they have looks great. I should have clarified, I'm looking for a dress belt, so that one looks like a solid option.
