I love that BB tie. How wide is it?

I love those british shirts. I've seen a couple like that but they're all to big. Awesome haul.

I'm going to flip the shirts @jose_jackson, so if they're your size, let me know. The sleeves on the CT are a bit too short on me, and the hot pink of the Thomas Pink makes my olive complexion look green. Oh well...

@greg_s, that one is 3.75" wide by 58" long. I'm going to put up a thread about ties for sale with a bunch

EDIT: Here's the ties for sale thread: http://threads.dappered.com/topic/fs-ties-ties-ties

So this really nice old lady gave me this coupon while I was checking out at Savers. The cashier refused to take it because i was in the process of transacting, I was irrate, since i hadnt even given her the money. So instead of just going and finding something I could get that costed 2.99 I decided i would hold off, come onto the Threads and share this wealth and at the same time get revenge on this cashier who took her job way too serious enjoy guys.

Thanks a ton for that, @MaxMan.

I've been out of country all week but managed to score a great deal of jackets last week, most of which I will trade or sell. I'm thinking about selling on Etsy as well. Does anybody have any experience with that?

I've never sold but have friends that do. They say it's easy and reliable.

Jason, I'm interested in taking that size 37 Hickey off of you if no one else has already. It's fully canvassed, as all HF items tend to be, correct? I'll contact you on fb and we can figure out payment and all that.

                  I'm not sure it's a 37... It didn't have a size in it. Here's the measurements:

                  jacket:

                  shoulders (seam-seam) 17.5"

                  chest (pit-pit) 20.5"

length (bottom of collar-jacket bottom) 28.75"

Sleeve (shoulder seam to cuff) 23.5"

                  pants:

waist (side-side; flat) 16" (about 2" to be let out)

inseam 28.5" (about 3" to be let out)

I picked these shoes up at a Salvation Army for $15, but I need help identifying them. This was my first thrift purchase, so please don't tell me I've been had.

The inside of the right says "Royal Imperial by Florsheim" (green lettering on a yellow background). Stitched leather sole and heel with a rubber cap. I think I can read E 357440 2 on the inside.

Any help identifying the make, etc. would be appreciated.

Also, should I give these the cobbler treatment, or should I just leave them as they are (a few minor, minor scuffs on the toe/elsewhere)?

                    Comment

Identifying the make? It says they're Florsheim Imperials (their best line of shoes)... I've never heard of anyone making fake Florsheims. Show us the soles if you want opinions on taking them to the cobbler.

Dang, I'm jealous of you guys for finding thrift shoes in good condition. jonATL, those look to be in great shape and even if you need new soles I think you got a good deal.

                        My Measurements: 6' 1" height, 35" sleeves, 41-42" chest/jacket, 35" waist, 34" inseam, 11.5D/EEE shoes, 200 lbs

OK. Here are some more pics of the shoes and of the sole. By identify, I mean make and vintage, if possible. They look kind of like a Westhaven/Carleton, but without the same details. I'm at a loss.

And I'm probably going to wear these with jeans/a seersucker suit (when it's time), correct? Could I put these with a Navy Ludlow suit?

Oh, and what's the best way to get the black nicks and the minor toe scuffs out?

                          Comment

Pics aren't showing up. Probably need to give them public permissions.

Also, tips for disinfecting/cleaning the shoes?

                              Thanks.

@jonATL - The soles still have plenty of life. "Royal Imperial" is Florsheim's best of the best. "Imperial" is their top line. So, I'd say you scored pretty big on this one. To get the scuffs out, I used a very soft tooth brush and some saddle soap. Follow the directions on the saddle soap. Then, condition and polish. Presto, dapper shoes.
