Ehhhhhh... I dunno, I'm so confused lol. They're like bizarro universe shoes. I can't find any thing on the internet about them.

A search for "crown executive collection shoes" turns up some hits, but all used shoe sales with no real detail.

Picked this up at a Savers last night. They had it marked up to $29.99 which is pretty high for coats that I've seen but it looks brand new. It is missing the belt which I don't mind at all. It is a little bigger than I would like so hopefully I can get it tailored some pretty easily. Even if not though it still isn't that bad.

that coat is SUPER DOPE. the buttons look amazing.

does that coat have a pinch in the back or a belt?

I snagged this for only a five dollars. it is a little bit crumpled up, and needs a steam. it's a half-lined sport coat, which is less common around here than a full lining. It's also a weird color combination, which I like. I have a bunch of more traditional herringbone pattern ones already.

I actually don't remember. It is at the tailor right now. It may end up costing me about $100 to get the sleeves and sides taken in but still for $130 I will take that all day. It does have belt loops but no belt. I wonder if I could find a matching one somewhere. I probably should have looked in the belt section while I was there and it might have been hanging up...

The weather is starting to warm up here in the Northwest and the coats are getting more plentiful in the thrift stores. Over the past month, I've picked up three wool overcoats (charcoal, navy and camel), a couple of trench coats (navy and khaki) and a black wool bomber. All except the bomber have been in like-new condition.

The camel overcoat is a double-breasted style with large notched collar. It is made by a company called "Baskin." Does anyone know anything about that company? Is it English?

Very nice. I like richly colored tweeds like that one.

Sometimes I think that we should make a list of stuff that we're looking for in the specific sizes that we wear. So if someone is going through a store and spots a "one-of-a-kind" item in size that another forum member wears, that person could either pick it up for them or alert them to it's presence.

Or maybe I just need to get a life and stop focusing so much on clothes.

i've gotta make a post in by/sell but, I came across no less than FOUR nice and clean complete Brooks Brothers suits. Three are 1818 models, one is a "golden fleece". they're all 40R coats, with 34W pants. not my size at all. still, i just had to get them all. I've found better, but for all four of them, it's a bit of a find.

I actually found all the suit-jackets in the blazer section, with no pants. I had to look high and low in the pants, shorts, and jeans sections to piece the complete suits back together. LOL.

They're probably going straight on ebay anyhow.

Sorry this probably isn't quite as much of a find, as much it's REALLY good timing. I was literally going to stock up on a couple more Brooks Brothers oxfords today, they're already in my cart to buy. I wanted to grab a couple of the old model before they it phase out. This model is now losing its shirt-pocket, and going up 52% in price.

Now I'm sure i'm known here on dappered as an Oxford Evangelist at this point. I'm incredibly enthusiastic about these shirts, how they look, and how they feel. They suit my life really well.

I'm also probably known here on dappered as someone who always brings up Brooks Brothers, and while I'm sure there are some other companies who make a better oxford shirt out there in the world, I really don't see them in thrifts. The brooks brothers ones are actually quite nice as well. It's possible, but apparently quite hard to do better for the price. This one you're looking at right now, in my opinion, is pretty close to the top of the oxford shirt heap as far as quality, fabric, where it's made, and the style of the shirt go. BB Oxfords have also proven to apparently be pretty popular with people commonly donate to my local thrift spots. They're not really uncommon, but I really put high value in being able to find another one.

I think in the last two years I have pulled 10 really really nice perfect Brooks Brothers oxfords out of thrifts, as well as bought another 6 from brooks brothers for more realistic prices. The new ones are really nice because I don't need to tailor them, but the thick lined coffs+collar are still a small drawback. they're ultimately not really that different.

These slightly older ones (tag is from mid-2000's), I would actually point out as being a little bit better. Though I can only get the one shirt fit out of the deal, my tailor can take care of that for $30. Ones from this era, are potentially even better than the ones I was going to get at the store. It has all the quality of the being-retired one, and was $5 compared to $79+$11 shipping. Theonly way my day could have been better yesterday is if I found two at the store instead of one :-D

this one is actually in superb shape. click for the serious oxford-shirt-porn pic,

this is by far one of the nicest things i've ever thrifted, as well as the most wrinkled. Hopefully my steamer will make this happen for me.

                                Thrifting

I went to a few thrift shops today and was surprised to see some decent jackets. I lost a few pounds and a button on my navy blazer so found a 100% wool Stafford blazer to replace it. Likely swap buttons but I think the jacket fits without need for tailoring. Also found a nice casual OCBD for summer wear.
