There's a guy on SF in the Thrift Wanted/Trade thread desperately looking for something in a 46S for a friend.

I don't know if the jacket length would be too much for him to consider, but I don't think he's had luck finding anything.

Wow, nice score!

Goodwill in Sterling, VA is a total bust, and I will never waste time there again. Entirely too many suit jackets from the 90s without matching pants.

But yes, a 46L to a 42R is asking a hell of a lot, and you'd better have a good tailor that you trust.
I've been fitting into 46R from Banana Republic, Suit Supply, and Calvin Klein when I tried lately...PM me how much you are asking for it, probably wouldn't need a ton of tailoring to go that far.

A long-to-short conversion is probably unwise.

^^^^ Nice!

Let's start some trading! You need to get rid of some of that selvedge you picked up, right?

cotoks, that 'Cuta is a sweeeeeet find! Closest I've gotten was a red *homage* one. It's not bad, but it's not the real deal.

Oh, and if Duvel comes here (I'm guessing the @ there might do the trick), he's gonna lose his mind!

More finds from the same Goodwill! I passed over these on the first day and they were still hanging around the second day =D

These last two were fairly damaged and I passed on them because otherwise half my suitcase would've been a denim grail haul (a fellow style forum member picked them up!)...also the cinch on the 700s were snapped off which was my favorite characteristic of that model.

We totally should start trading and hopefully get some more Dappered members into thrifting. To be honest, I don't come across the great stuff you guys who live in bigger cities do so frequently. I thrift very regularly, so I have built up a big inventory. Here are my current listings:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/lylelem/m.ht...1&_ipg=&_from=

As you can see, I'm aggressively optimistic with my pricing. I usually end up accepting best offers. This is only a hobby and I have a lot of extra space in my house, so I'm fine with sitting on inventory for extended periods.

That being said, I'd be more than willing to either trade or sell most of my items at a steep discount to Dappered members.

I've already sold three pairs of the vintage Levi's I scored at the end of last year. Was very happy with how the auction for the little 'e' selvedge turned out:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-LEVIS-50...item46187d8df8

I still have the big 'E' pair in my closet. I just haven't had the heart to list them. I have my eye on an iMac with a 27" display (business expense), so I'll probably try to sell them if I get impatient over the next month and want the cash quick.

It's tagged a 40 R. I conveniently left out some key information. This G9 was made in Turkey, not in England. Apparently, for a time during the late 90s to early 00s, Baracuta outsourced production of some items. It's a legit G9 - it just doesn't say "Made in England" on the loop tag at the neck. I'd guess it's around 10 years old based on the tags. It fits quite slim. It doesn't billow too much at the waist, and the sleeves are fairly slim from shoulder to wrist. Besides the sleeves being a tad too short, it fits me well. I'm not sure that I'm in love with the look, but I think I'm going to hang on to it since it's such an iconic piece (same mindset that's keeping me from listing the big 'E' Levi's...).

This denim haul was absurd. I can't imagine what the guy's current denim collection is like if he was willing to dump these off at Goodwill.

I think you mentioned on SF that you found these at a GW in New York. My sister lives in Brooklyn and I've tried to get her into thrifting with little success.

Cot, if you ever come across a 42R in a Baracuta, please let me know.
