I like both of those jackets. I've been to many thrift stores in many states, and never managed to find a jacket anything like those-great find. I'd be happy with either, but that second one is really good looking.

Yeah...I don't know if I posed that question very well, nor did I take great pictures.

In the first picture, I've zipped up the front and snapped the buttons on the flap to conceal the zipper. I thought maybe the additional zipper and fasteners (which are about an inch to either side of the button flap on the front) could be used to zip up and hide the buttons. But the zipper itself is facing the wrong direction.

It looks to me like you just pull the two sides together. Maybe it's just an extra way to seal up the jacket. You might have to pull that other zipper side the other direction to make it fit the other zipper side, of course. Have you tried that?

I have tried that - it just seems like it's a design flaw because then you're fastening the zipper backwards and upside down. I appreciate your help in cracking the case of the mysterious yet badass W&G!

No, its clearly designed to attach something to the jacket. As opposed to a jacket liner, it looks like this has some type of outer garment that attaches via those zippers, perhaps a waterproof parka or something...

This thought also crossed my mind. After doing a bunch of internet sleuthing last night, I've decided the jacket most resembles the W&G Trooper, which was modeled after paratrooper gear. I'm having an extremely difficult time of tracking down a similar jacket on eBay, Etsy, other forums, etc...

Interesting jacket, in any case. I'm guessing, too, now that there's an outer jacket or parka or whatever that this can attach to.
