The photos I've seen of CXL wingtips with some patina on them look great. I have a pair of "natural" CXL longwings, but they aren't old enough to have developed that character yet.

I have a pair of cap-toe CXL boots that have some brogue-ing around the cap piece. It looks really great.

i feel like the usually thicker leather will good good like that. but it's definitely a little different. a lot more texture, and it gains a lot more color variation and wears in nicely as it gets old.

i think they will look great. Love the depth chromexcel adds. A few brogue holes won't change that.

    Brogues in chromexcel- pros/cons?

I'm considering pulling the trigger on some chromexcel Long Branch boots from the bay, but not sure how chromexcel works with broguing.

My impression is that chromexcel gives character to otherwise boring flat shoes, especially as they break in over time. If you chromexcel a pair of wing tips, does that defeat the purpose? Anyone care to share their experiences?
