Official "How Does This Fit?" Thread

Trying out Charles Tyrwhit extra slim fit for the first time and was hoping for feedback on two points:
1. The high second button makes the collar look kind of odd to me. Is this noticeable or am I over-thinking it?
2. Are the sleeves a little too short?

I think the only way you notice that is if you are wearing it.

The sleeves look okay to me. The only way I can ever really tell is to unbutton them and see how they hang. If they are halfway up my hand unbuttoned, I call that "fitting." I've never been able to tell buttoned up.

The other way I try is to wear a jacket that is altered correctly and see how much cuff is exposed. If no cuff is exposed, the sleeves are slightly too short.

Basically, it looks like it fits to me, but you may try unbuttoning the cuffs.

ASCOT CHANG SUIT

This suit is from Ascot Chang, IFC Mall location. Both suit and shirt were commissioned and paid for. Measured by the salesman in the morning, first basted fitting was 4 days later, with a full basted jacket (instead of half sleeves like at other places). Suit was received 5 weeks after order through the post.

Had the suit pressed, so any suit wrinkling should be solely due to fit. Shirt was laundered at home and dried in the machine, but no ironing was done. Pictures are overexposed to show as much detail as possible. The first four pictures are with the shirt and trousers alone, the fifth and sixth picture shows the tightness of the trousers around the thighs, and the last four are the full suit buttoned up.

[MENTION=17119]animeking[/MENTION] -- Those all look great. The last one is my favorite in terms of fit and fabric. I don't see anything I would really change, though I do notice I can't see the cuff of your shirt when you're wearing the jacket. Maybe you just hadn't pulled it down though. Enjoy those suits!

I had found myself lusting after this blazer when I missed one of the Land's End 40% off sales, but it came back up last week so I pulled the trigger--seemed like a steal at $69. The caveat is this would undoubtedly be the loudest item of clothing I own, so I feel like if I'm going to pull it off the fit has to be spot on. Kind of on the fence as to whether it's going back right now. Feedback welcome!

Honestly I think it looks spot on. Sleeves look right, shoulders don't look off to me. Perfect tail length. Are there any spots that feel uncomfortable or that you're concerned about?

[MENTION=15212]otoba[/MENTION] -- I think you'll be very pleased with it. Construction is VERY light, comfortable, will be great for warmer weather (I have a conference in San Diego next week). I like the patch pockets and how it feels little more casual.

I had looked at this jacket several times online and passed. Seeing it makes me kinda regret passing at $70. I was not a fan of wearing with jeans, but really love the look alongside caramel chinos. I think you got a steal.

[MENTION=17119]animeking[/MENTION] - Just saw you post but thought I would comment on things I see. Honestly I think it looks good overall and I wouldn't really have anything done unless it bugged me or the alterations are free from the tailor.

When ordering your next batch of shirts, take your watch into consideration for the cuff circumference. I can't tell much else with the shirt. Loose here and there but that helps with movement. Maybe the sleeves are billowy? Personal choice there but I wouldn't worry about it.

As for the pants while seated, if they don't feel like the thread is about to rip out they should be fine. Even my most generous pants have the pull lines. From the back picture with the jacket on, you may be able to let the seat out to help them drape better. I think this helps with the creases near your butt.

For the jacket, the sleeves could come up a little to show shirt cuff. I do not know the cause of this but will point it out. Near the jacket breast pocket, the lapels break ever so slightly. I have heard this is a chest issue but it looks like you have room in the chest. I have this on a jacket or two and I let it be but again, if alterations are free, I would see if they could do something. Google research should be able to point to some causes.

Hello everyone. Got my first two blazers. Both are 40R Slim Fit. I feel like right now the only thing I don't like is the sleeve length on the navy one. Everything else I like, but I know nothing about fit so Advice?

Photos above. S&M suit I bought a while back. Had to have it tailored twice because first tailor did a poor job with the pants. Think the fit is good now. Feel like the jacket might be slightly short as I have a long torso but I'm not sure. Overall very happy with quality of suit.

Thoughts on fit?

[MENTION=9026]mooseontheloose[/MENTION] - yep - this looks good ! Sleeve length is good, nice choice in shirt for some contrast. Shoe color is great. I cant tell - since your holding the cameraphone- if the shoulders are dialed in perfectly or not ? You are roughly 5'10" ? It's a nice looking suit.
