Hey all! I have been following Dappered for about a year now, but finally decided to make an account today (as you would expect, i need some advice) I recently purchased this leather jacket off the clearance rack at Wilsons Leather (75% off = $140). It was the last small they had in stock so I figured I would buy it and just return it if I changed my mind (Also, small is as small as it gets, no x-small)
I have a few concerns: I feel that the shoulders and chest of the jacket fit well, however the body is about 1.5'' too long and a bit loose. Also the sleeves are maybe just a touch long, although I wore it with a thicker underneath it and they ended right about the base of my thumb.
I spoke with a local tailor who works with leather and he advised me to hold onto it saying it isn't worth the cost to have it shortened. I know many of the posters in this forum have a good eye for these types of things so I was hoping some I could get some friendly advice. Should I return it or hold onto it? What would you do considering fit, purchase price, etc.
Also, as far as style and color go, the artificial light in the room caused the jacket to look reddish in the photos. In person, it is a mid to dark brown.
Thanks!
