Long Haul from TS came in. The blue is about the same shade as my new Gustin jeans in sunlight, which bothers me, but overall I like the jacket. Fit in the arms and such is great and there's just enough room for a bit of layering.

I have a long torso though and the jacket hits around the top of my pant line. I'm on the fence if it's going to look bad with buttoned casual shirts that are a bit longer. Pictured above is a TS shirt that fits well but them together I'm not sure.

    Thoughts?

Big bummer if I return due to shipping to and from Canada but I don't want to regret keeping.

I think it looks right. I just received mine as well. Same color, but it seems to look better on you! Lol!

I'm keeping mine. I can't believe how thin the material is! I don't love the collar and wish it weren't corduroy or tonal, but rather the waxed cotton. I'll live with it. Should be a good spring/summer jacket, especially when damp out.

I think I'm just not used to cropped jackets at all. Can't remember the last time I owned one. I also think the jacket should hit around the bottom of the belt. If I hike my pants up then it does, but if I wear them where I normally do then the jacket hits at the top of the belt/pants. For longer buttoned shirts like TS I think it may look a bit awkward, but it should be fine with shorter cut shirts, of which I have plenty. I guess I was just hoping for the cost it could become my everyday jacket, but I do have others I can rotate in with longer shirts. Still deciding.

I like how thin it is actually. Just what I wanted since I tend to run very warm.

On the other hand, the cut of the TS casual shirt is amazing. The fit and material are perfect. Definitely not cheap but TS' reputation for their casual shirts is definitely well deserved. I'll be adding to my collection from Grailed whenever I can.

Picked up this banana republic jacket at the local thrift store for cheap, it fits my chest great but after getting it home I realized I didn't pay much attention to the shoulders when at the store. How is the fit? Tends to dimple a bit

I think you are fine with that jacket. I get a bit of that on some of mine and it is a shoulder pad issue with a little bit arm pitch.

The shoulders are fine on that jacket. But what color is it, navy or black? Also, it seems to have a...well...interesting striped pattern. How would you describe it?

                Comment

It is dark navy with very dark navy (possibly black?) lightly woven in. As for the pattern, I will try and put some pics up tomorrow but it is a different kind of pattern, still unsure how I feel about it. Imagine columns running the length of the jacket. One column contains stripes of very dark navy (maybe black), and the contrasting column has no stripping.

I just pulled this suit out after a year of not wearing. I've lost weight so what are your thoughts on how it fits? Thanks!

P.S. I think it's large everywhere, but I await the experts.

Jacket looks too big. Luckily it looks like you can at least salvage the trousers to wear with sport coats.

Jack is over size, shoulders showing too much slop and is the shirt sleeves long too, you have folded one cuff of shirt.

                            Thanks guys!

fiftyforfifty Haha, you noticed the shirt sleeve. Yeah, that shirt has yet to make it to the tailor. Speaking of which, do you think the jacket is fixable at the tailor, or are the shoulder a lost cause?
LesserBlackDog I was thinking the same. At least I have a decent pair of gray wool trousers.

Next fitting question. I tried on the J. Crew Ludlow 40R and 42R. Which one looks better? Thanks in advance.

iviustang50h - The 40R for sure. The 42R has a lot of extra fabric everywhere. Ludlow's seem to have the shoulder divot for most people so I wouldn't worry about that. I have read this is more of a sleeve pitch issue that a tailor could fix by removing the sleeve but it would cost roughly $100 for that alone at my tailor.

JBarwick Thank you! I liked the fit of the 40R better as well, but the shoulder divots did concern me a little. I now notice them on the 42R as well though, and seeing you say that most people have them with the Ludlow makes me feel better. I am also planning to order a sportcoat from Spier & Mackay ASAP as soon as I hear back from Rick regarding the shoulder width. I'm hoping the Ludlow fits similar in the shoulders so I don't need to mess with returns (planning to order a 40R Contemporary fit as of right now).
