Neither of my LEC purchases fit. The refined chinos in 32x32 are too small in waist and length. The white selvedge shirt with 33/34 sleeves is about two inches too long (at least an inch longer in the sleeves than a 34/35 usually is). Otherwise, the fit of the pants is good, while the shirt requires tailoring in the body and sleeve width.

Disappointing. I have at least a 50% return ratio with LEC because the sizing is so hit and miss, even between their own items.

@BenW - Yeah their sizing can be pretty screwed up. I bought their Chambray Workshirt and it fits me awesome, but the Heavyweight Oxford Workshirt is huge in the torso and way too long. Both are size M. Their straight fit chinos actually fit me pretty well.

The linen shorts I got fit well, so I'm keeping them. I'm returning the jeans I got at Gap. The fabric isn't as nice as the ones I got last fall... Not as rigid, smooth, or raw-denim feeling as my old ones (which still feel brand new).

@Alan: your expression is priceless! I guess I'd look like that too if I found an off the rack fit that good!

@JC glad you made that post, as I've been on the fence about ordering the GAP jeans since our discussion a few days ago. I'm going to hold off for now. Both myself and my wallet thank you!

Picked up a pair of white Jack Purcell's and a slim fit Ralph Lauren pink/white gingham dress shirt at Macy's. Their 20% off sale is still ongoing so in total it came to around $100 for both items. The shirt was admittedly a bit of a splurge, but my previous Lauren purchases have been long lasting, and I wanted something to break up the neutral colors I've acquired recently.

Bought the gap gray cotton blazer online which was featured this week using the 30% off code. I gambled on going with a 38s instead of a 40s to try to get out of some tailoring costs for a bit. If it fits like the jacket I tried on at the store, I'll be very satisfied.

When I found the tailored fit moleskin blazer at GAP a few months ago, the 42R fit me perfectly (I'm normally a 40R). So I'd size up one, if anything.

My LEC shipment came in two days ago, but I never really posted on it. The selvedge purple gingham shirt is a keeper, the multi-color gingham shirt is going back, and I'm still on the fence about the linen shorts.

@ JC and Alan, what color of the linen shorts did you guys get?

@BenR: I got the red plaid that's shown in the example photo.

The only thing I've ordered from LEC that I've been completely satisfied with are the Crosby boots. They fit great and were an excellent value. Everything else makes me feel like I'm a crazy person.

Grabbed a 9-piece blue/white handkerchief pack for $5 from JCPenney... this one to be exact:

Their website won't allow you add it to cart online, so you'll have to find it in-store. I found the quality to be similar to the Merona handkerchiefs after a side-by-side comparison.

I'm considering buying the 40s too, to have them to compare, then bring back the one that doesn't work. The black polyester jacket at the gap that I tried on was a 38s tailored fit and fit quite well. I tried on a 40s in the same jacket and it worked too, but would have required alterations instantly. I was expecting to fit a 40s since that is what I am in BR tailored fit.

EDIT: Ok, I ordered the 40s too. If I find a camera to use, maybe I'll post pics of both and get some input when they arrive.

Trying to start my summer wardrobe

Ordered this contrasting polo from Original Penguin

Have to send it back - way, way too slim fit. The L fit like a small

Losing weight is very expensive. I think I'm only halfway to replacing my entire wardrobe
