    have you tried these before? My chest to waist drop is about 8inches and even the slim fit isn't cut deep enough on the official JCrew stuff (strange because factory slim fit is just about perfect). Sizing down on classic sort of works, but your chest area will be really tight, as well as arms.

    Just got these too:

              man, these are... really nice! where did you get these and do you recall the model name? i've been in the market for a long-term pair of brown cap toe boots for a while now, and i'd written the wolverines off because i wasn't a fan of how their current cap toe option looks, but this is very clearly a slight variation, and i prefer it greatly! a pair of boots like that work with pretty much everything i own for most of the year.

                No I've never tried a shirt like tis before from J Crew, but I wear the Factory shirts in medium and they fit decent. My assumption is with all the darts and extras that this shirt should fit even better. I can always get it taken in at the sides. My chest is too big to drop down a size. The chest is usually a little tight in my Mediums.

                    @Pitseleh: It's a new released model http://www.wolverine.com/US/en-US/Pr...1000-Mile-Boot

                    What do you guys think of these boots? They are steve maddens (yea I know...) but I found them at a thrift for super cheap. They are still drying from conditioning and oiling in the pic. Hoping to use them as a beater boot.

                      Not crazy about that heel patch or the zip-up side, but at a thrift store price it's hard to complain. The overall shape looks pretty decent in any case.

                        I dig em aside from the zipper, especially for thrift prices.

                        Can anyone explain the fad in zip up boots for men(and women)? I just don't understand having laces and then having a zipper. Is laziness becoming a fashion staple or something?

                            @BenR/Long: The zipper is certainly interesting lol. Are zip up boots considered a trend? Joe's featured several zip up boots on here before like the Timberland earth keepers:

                              I frankly don't know. I'll admit to having never noticed them enough to pay much attention to them until I started seeing them seemingly everywhere starting a few months ago.

                              I don't really like the look of any zippered boot, but at the same time, I've never owned a pair.

                                Zip-up sides make sense on something like a chelsea boot, which would otherwise be fairly difficult to put on or take off. On a boot that already has laces, it just strikes me as an unnecessary "masculine" detail, like extra buckles and snaps on a leather jacket. I feel like the zip-up side concept was just taken from other boots and added to these lace-up boots to make them different from the previous season's offerings.
