Picked up some light blue cotton Bedford pants for $15 and a blue gingham washed shirt for $11

Can you please comment on the fit of the blue gingham washed shirt. Is it true to size as defined by the website --> http://factory.jcrew.com/sizecharts/...?sizeChart=0,0

The sleeve lengths they list in relation to the other measurements indicate that this probably won't work on me

    • I picked up a Schott 654 jacket last night. It's their "cowhide casual racer" in the "black cherry" color. It's so damn great, I'm having a hard time containing myself. I've been saving up for it for a while - assisted by a fortunate, too-cheap buy on some shoes that I flipped at a hefty profit on ebay, I got to the save-up finish line this week. Rather than buy online, as was my plan, I called a local store to see if they had the jacket in stock (I've called several times before because I wanted to check out the object I coveted in person, but they were always out). This time, however, they happened to have one in my size on hand. I leapt at the opportunity and jammed down there to pick it up. It looked as good as the online pics had lead me to believe AND the store happened to be having a 20% off sale, so I saved over $100. Still pricey, but that was a pleasant surprise.

And this jacket really is some good looking business. I'll post some pics later.

      • Did a haul a couple of days ago. Picked up the 4 oxford/gingham shirts from JCP, Sebago high tops in brown, Target cords, a few JCrew v neck sweaters and a couple of washed gingham shirts from JCrew factory. Always fun doing a refresh, hehe.

        • i picked up 2 oxford shirts from JCP at $20 each [light blue plain, and light blue striped], and i got 2 layering crewnecks from banana in copper velvet and starry night came out to $35 each [http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse...pid=228798002]. getting rid of a jcrew factory sunwashed oxford with stripes [it just never fit me right, the jcp one is actually much nicer], and dumping an h&m oxford that i picked up that fit way too baggy with long sleeves, but hey it was like $10.

            • These JCP oxfords seem like they are quickly becoming essentials. Might have to go check them out finally.

              • got some things from jcrewf yesterday. Light purple v neck sweater with solid purple tie (had to get it off the mannequin). Their slim fit stuff is very limited: no sweaters, different selection for the washed shirts, and that brown shawl cardigan was no where to be found. They didn't have the oxford either, just a very thin see through washed shirt hah. I'll probably take a look at the JCP if they're as great as everyone says they are (fit wise)

I received a "new" pair of brown wingtips from JCPenney today. They are more worn-out than many of the shoes available at local thrift shops. Either a total failure of quality-control or a deliberate attempt to pass off three-month old shoes on a sucker. I know they are dirt-cheap, but really? C'mon. I'll be returning them to the nearest brick-'n'-mortar JCPenney because I'd like to have an actual new pair of these shoes I've seen highly praised on this website for Thanksgiving. The pair they sent me look like they got stuck in the gears of their cheap shoe making machine and were found three months later.

A bad first experience with the revamped JCPenney.

                            • Bought a pair of Levis 505 jeans in Tumbled Rigid. I already have one pair but they fit me so well and I need more jeans. I considered getting the 514s, but my legs are more on the muscular side, and while I wear Alpha Khakis, I feel like they are choking on my calves at times, so I think the 505s offer a good balance, especially with blazers. Plus, they have a 16.5" or 17" opening, just like the 514s, so that's good.

                              Also bought: http://www.amazon.com/Kenneth-Cole-R...ref=pd_sbs_a_1

I was considering this bag before it sold out (http://www.bluefly.com/Property-Of-c...301/detail.fly) but opted for the leather KC because I feel like it'll serve me better in a couple years, when I'll pretty much always be in shirt/coat mode (I'm hoping it can last me 3-4 years). The description says full grain leather, but we'll see about that. (Funny story, I walked into a Fossil store a few weeks ago and asked if their bag was full-grain leather and the salesperson said "Yessir, this here is ginu-wiiine leather, none of that fake stuff." I smiled and walked out). Note for anybody looking for a bag, Kenneth Cole sells a similar one, "Risky Business" for only $85 on Amazon. I opted for this one because it is zippered and has clasps, the other one is just a magnetic flappy cover.

It would be great if the bag didn't have "Kenneth Cole" stamped into it but I'll see about getting that fixed (any ideas?). Also picked up a tan belt at the same time from Amazon. Contemplating buying a few ties from The Tiebar.

                              • Hey guys so my 1st experience with bonobos just came in today. just wondering in people have had experience with the pants shrinking in the wash or if they stay true to size? I'm attaching some pics, I know the stuff needs ironing and the red white and blue shirt obviously needs collar stays like crazy. what are your guys thoughts on the purchase, I'm in college so 99% of the time the shirts will be worn casually with jeans and the sleeves rolled or under a sweater just want some opinions on if you think they are good looking casual everyday shirts. Also how would you suggest wearing the chino's as every day pants, I feel like they look off with an un-tucked shirt, and besides the boat shoes I cant think of what shoes. Thanks for any help
