    I normally wear 36R contemporary in their suits and got this coat in 38R contemporary and it works fine on its own or over a jacket. I'm actually wearing it over a blazer in the pics above so IMO it works fine with suits/jackets length-wise.

    Yeah, I think it's more the latter than the former - I find it much harder to tell how shoes look on me compared to clothes.
