      thanks julio

so i tried out both pairs for a full day and the laceups were incredibly comfortable but the loafers were a little stiff - hopefully they'll break in and get a little softer.

Recently snagged this pair of Allen Edmonds Van Ness in Merlot off of eBay for only $80. They're in fantastic condition.

          Wow, they look good BJ.

The seller probably did what I did: Bought pair of AE montgomery's from the sale for $100(along with 3 other shoes), tried them, not very comfy at all, Sold them on ebay for $75 pretty much brand new.

Yeah there were just a couple creases and scuffs. Looks like they were worn twice, maybe. A good polishing session has them looking like brand new. I'm still in awe of the price

very nice pickup BJ - i've been searching for a khaki blazer and you've inspired to check out ebay. what do you all think?

~$50 for brooks brothers seems a little too good to be true

                Recents.

Picked up this Cotton Glen Plaid blazer (taupe) while in the store exchanging a shirt at BR. It fits pretty well, i'll just need the sleeves taken up and the waist taken in a bit.

This was the shirt I got I was exchanging for a small. Previous solid color BR linen shirt fit perfect in medium, but had to go down to small for this one

Also got this neiman marcus card case during their last 40% off sale + free shipping. It cured my "castanza" wallet nicely.

Ordered a couple pairs of linen blend pants (brown and navy) from old navy as they were on a pretty deep sale (got them for about 20$ a piece). I like them, the only issue is the button fly but its not a deal breaker.

and the blue SS Ray from Orient. Really pleased with it so far.

So I bought some Chinos from LEC and I ordered some Refined Slim Fit as well, just because Nicholas said too.

Well enjoy the laugh, it would be the equivalent of ladies panty lines heh, needless to say I think I should return them for the straight leg which seems fairly snug. Now keep in mind I do a log of squats/hockey etc so this is by no means a definitive how it will fit everyone.

Nick could have been responsible for the blinding of many people had I walked out of the house :P

Side question: what the heck do you do with the anorexic leg openings? they fall into your shoes. If anyone says tuck them into high tops and don't tie them up...I keel you...not happening ever.

(The dark spot is part of my quad and a shadow effect from the lighting I'm guessing, not my knee cap

Here's the wrought iron in straight leg also at a 33 waist.

Those look fine to me (maybe it's just the angle?). Honestly, you should wear them around for a day and see if your opinion has changed. I felt really weird wearing Dockers Alpha's at first, but now I feel baggy in straight fits.

The outline of the pocket is OK to have? And to the right of the pocket outline you can barely see it in that picture but I just noticed it after trying them on again, you can see my boxer breifs outline. They don't feel obnoxiously tight surprisingly, I can't pick my leg up to 90 degrees, so no doing to stairs at once but I figured that would happen.

shadow,I've had similar issues with cotton pants. I find if you wear them 4-5 hours they become a little more loose and comfortable. Around the house that is , I wouldn't cut the tags until you're sure. From experience if they are nice and comfortable when I first try them on, they tend to get too loose over time. Cotton stretches a fair amount.

I agree. In terms of fit they look good. I'm betting they will expand a bit as you wear them around for a little bit.

Bought these off myhabit the other day: Sebago Sussex Penny loafers - Chocolate Suede..

A little looser than I expected them to be but should be ok with socks (regular or loafer socks)

@mixto, how do you like your sebagos? Did you receive them yet?

                            Comment

@pratyk: Yes, I received them. Too tight for me. I could not get my feet inside without socks, just not wide enough. Felt like the seam was going to burst. The length was fine, about an extra 1/2 inch on toe w/o slippage. Style wise, i'm not sure, never had loafers before and could have done without the diagonal bar on the side. The fact that my feet are too wide for it, which deform the shape of the shoes and create an unappealing silhouette doesn't help.

                              Comment

It fits well for meon the sides. The lenght is about 1/2 an inch on the toe with slippage as you experienced.

I plan on wearing it out tomorrow now that it's stopped raining around these parts. I like the Vibram soles on these.

Do you have the option of Exchanging for a wider width?
