haha. I know. I think I am gonna force myself to wear it to court once or twice (lawyer) before the wedding just to make sure I can pull it off with confidence.

Indeed. As Heinlein said, "A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."

      And oh, live the Hemming-way.

Wearing a bow tie is all about attitude (i.e. not care what people think). If you are conscious about it, it will show.

        Good luck, and post pictures!

Decided to finally pull the trigger on a pair of Gustin jeans, #136 The Grey Herringbone. It's going to be a while until they arrive, but they should be a pleasant surprise when they do.

          Regards,

I snagged the pocket of my chinos on a boat hook this weekend while I was fishing. Put about an inch long tear in the pants at the top of the pocket seam. These are just some cheapo chinos from Gap Factory so it doesn't break my heart that they ripped - in fact I'll probably just sew them up and put them into the weekends-only rotation with the rest of my old, trashed pants. But, I own relatively few pairs of pants as is, so I needed to replace these if I didn't want to end up wearing the same 3 pairs of pants to work every day.

I swung by the Gap Factory store on my way home from the lake today and picked up 3 new pairs of chinos for $60.

Reorganizing the closet a little today after putting away the laundry, I rediscovered an old vintage store purchase: nothing less than a 3/2 navy Brooks Brothers blazer with a generous lapel and brass buttons. I tried it on and it is still perfect. I bought this about 2 years ago, never wore it because we were in Asheville and it was hot outside for a good stretch, and forgot about it. I think I paid $40.

I am going to start rocking this f-er, as the kids say.

                        Thank you!
A bit big in the waste but extremely lightweight. Also, the price was awesome.

I'm hoping to wear it this Friday to my father's retirement dinner, providing the temps don't soar into the 80s. I'll try to get pix then. Planning on wearing with a blue university stripe OCBD and a rep tie, doncha know.
