Anybody know anything about Fitzwell shoes?

Setting aside the pun of a name, anybody know anything about this brand? I found a reference saying it's a Zappos house brand, which would explain why I can't find the shoes outside of Zappos.com, 6pm.com, and Amazon. I ask because I saw these models:

    http://www.6pm.com/fitzwell-antonio-plain-toe-burgundy

    http://www.6pm.com/fitzwell-antonio-plain-toe-black

    http://www.6pm.com/fitzwell-alejandro-mid-brown-nubuck

And have to say that, for $35 shoes, they look pretty decent. They have combination leather/rubber soles, and if you zoom in on the underside there's a "Made in Mexico" stamp. There are some overall good reviews of other models on Zappos.com (all ugly models), so I'm intrigued. Unfortunately 6pm.com doesn't do free return shipping so I'm not entirely tempted to try them out, but if they're comfortable and last a year or two they seem like good beater shoes.

Edit: I just noticed they have a size 24 (!!!) available...I can't even picture that.

I'd be skeptical of the quality unless I heard about it from someone I trust. Folks who write 5-star reviews for $30 shoes aren't necessarily judging by the same standards as those of us looking for features like full-grain leather and Goodyear welts.

Plus you can get secondhand Allen Edmonds and co. on eBay for not much more than that, and at thrift stores for much less if you're lucky and/or persistent.

But there's nothing wrong with a cheap beater shoe, even one that dies after a year... especially if you use that time to find something with a little more longevity to it. B-)

Cheap shoes often look pretty good in pictures, then the lack of quality becomes apparent when you receive them.

I own a pair of fitzwell shoes and I love them. I have a wide foot that happens to be a 10.5. I own the Aurora pumps and they are the most comfortable pumps I've ever owned. They are also very stylish, unusual for my size. Hope this helps.
