    Thoughts on Bracelets?

I'm interested in seeing what you think about bracelets? Last summer I started wearing a relatively thin sailor knot bracelet and a friendship bracelet that I made and I liked it. Unfortunately these had to stay on which didn't really work for me. The sailor knot got too tight eventually and the friendship bracelet fell off and I never felt the need to put it back on.

I play squash and I find it annoying to have anything on my wrist when I'm playing, but I'm looking for a clasp bracelet to wear that I can take on and off as I please. I like the looks of the Miansai bracelets on J.Crew but I'm not really looking to spend much on one.

Any ideas of where I can get similar styles for less expensive?

Dude! That's the most expensive $3 bracelet I've ever seen. :-S

I like bracelets, as long as they're only on one wrist, and as long as you don't wear any other jewelry other than a watch. It's a look that's best for younger, fitter, trendier guys, though. On an older guy who is more traditional and less fashion-forward it will just look weird.

I loooooove this from J.Crew but it seems stupidly expensive. I've seen some knockoffs on Etsy that I've considered buying, but haven't yet pulled the trigger.

@BenR: Good call on the etsy. Here's a search for "miansai" on easy:

            Lots of results.

Pretty good find actually. I do like the look of the clasp though. Just came across this.

Don't know much about Etsy but I feel like I hear about it a decent amount. I like the colors of the Urban ones and the clasp of the Etsy ones.

Bracelets aren't for me, but seems like fun to diy if you want. you could go to home depot or somewhere with paracord colors, and make your own. Simple fasteners from the door latch aisle (or a fishing store). If they are selling for $7 on etsy, you know they are $1-2 to make.

I like the idea of a bracelet, but I don't like the look of these. To me, they sort of look like the man-jewelry equivalent of flip flops and cargo shorts. I would choose something like a simple distressed leather strap with a tarnished hook, if it were me. I do like the fish hooks on the ones pictured, but not the bungee cord. YMMV, of course.

Bracelets are my "style blogger approved" item that I can't stand. I don't understand all the guys wearing $3000 suits and then accessorizing with a bunch of cheap looking bracelets (that were probably also ridiculously expensive, but whatever).

I like bracelets similar to the 'Braided Brown Leather Bracelet with Pewter Beads' made by Col. Littletons

I tried a bracelet once in 6th grade and never got into it.

For Etsy - we order stuff on there from time to time. You can interact with the seller beforehand and get exactly what you're looking for, especially if you're not in a rush. We have Christmas stockings that have our names sewn on from Etsy.

I feel like these types of things go along with Live Strong bracelets. They're "fine" if you're into it, but they get over worn. Definitely never not a work item or when you're dressed up.

Despite all the haters... ;-) I just bought this:

                              http://www.etsy.com/listing/85531973/desert-tan-paracord-survival-bracelet

But in olive green instead of desert tan.

$13 shipped for the same paracord bracelet that you can get from Survival Straps for $40. Not too shabby.

                              Also, offered without comment:
