No experience with those particular pants, but I'd recommend trying them on in-person if you can. Like a lot of cheaper brands, Old Navy's fit and sizing can be wildly inconsistent.

Seems reasonable -- it is fully lined, so may be kind of warm even with their 'climate control Cool Wool'. Didn't see what the lining was made from anywhere.

As an aside, I enjoyed reading the reviews. "This was tight on me". "Shitty construction bc patch pockets are cheap", etc.

I think the majority buying from Lands End probably isn't that fashion forward, so patch pockets look "cheap" in that they are cheaper to make and the connotation is that it's thus a cheaper jacket than one with regular pockets. Probably true on all fronts, but they're not appreciating that it makes for a more casual look that some might prefer.

There was also a guy who said that patch pockets didn't work for doing business that he needed to do... as if it were the jacket's fault for being patched rather than his for not noticing when he was purchasing. Classic.

Brooks Brothers, hardly cheap, feature patch pockets on many of their blazers.

While Lands' End is not fashion forward, I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. I think of their things as traditional.

Did you know that J. Crew customer service specialists can give you garment dimensions for an item over chat? It's pretty cool. I wonder why J. Crew doesn't simply provide them online.

Can this suit jacket pass as a sport coat? I am looking at the toast glen plaid color. I'm thinking with the patch pockets and the glen plaid it could work. Thoughts?

The patch pockets make it work, but then again it looks like the material is fine wool commonly associated with suiting.

Funny, I've been eying spring/summer blazers for my next purchase and I've been looking for something to specifically have patch pockets just to add a little more casualness in my jacket selection.

The CS at Lands End told me the lining was 100% poly. I think I am going to skip it. If I sit down tonight after a beer I may change my mind though

There's an unconstructed tan chino from last year on eBay for cheaper, but minus the patch pockets, and it comes in the S/M/L sizing, so it may be my back-up.

I like this one as well, but it looks a bit cropped, and that price is too steep, and its fully lined.

Yeah, I'm with you on the Friday afternoon, just knocked out a couple of projects, may be doing some light Inbox clean-up the rest of the afternoon.

I honestly would go with the LE over the JC. Crew's jackets are looking too lounge-y to me these days. The button stance is too low and the lapels too narrow. I like the traditional look of the LE, and in fact, I'm adding the LE shitake jacket (at least, maybe also pants) to my lust list.

I really, really like the LE suit jacket and pants! I would tend to go for the traditional fit, though. Very classic looking, if you ask me. And like $70 for the jacket right now on sale.
