You can dye them, if you strip the old dye with acetone or a similar solvent, and then redye the leather. That's what dye is for, after all.

You might get some color change with cream or wax, but it will be a lot less, take longer, and superficial, and may not look as good. http://dappered.com/2012/10/the-sugg...ck-shoe-creme/ has an example of the kind of change you could expect.

The downside being that if you don't know what you're doing, you can also just plain ruin the boots trying to strip and dye it.

Thanks for the quick feedback. I might go with the shoe cream route with multiple applications, as it will actually get absorbed into the leather (similar to dye), and then polish over it to seal. Granted, it will take longer, but at least I'll not permanently ruin the boots like I most likely would when removing the current leather dye.

I recently bought a navy blazer that fits perfectly in every way, but the sleeves are a touch long (by maybe half a centimeter). The problem is that the blazer has functional cuff buttons. I know that this is an expensive alteration, but the amount needed to be shortened would be nowhere near the lowest button.

Is having to remove a button what makes this alteration so expensive, or is there some other complication that I'm not thinking about? Thanks!

That is less than 1/4 inch. You should be able to have it shorted that much without problems. Also, is it worth it of it is that little? Especially on a $70 jacket?

Good to know! The sleeves on my longest dress shirts are showing about a 1/4", so I would like to be able to wear all of my shirts and still show some fabric. I know it's a cheap jacket, but it'll be my only navy blazer and I'll obsess about it every time I wear it.

Need some advice on dos and donts. What is acceptable to wear under a V-neck sweater besides a collared button up shirt? I realized most of my sweaters are v neck, not sure if I should invest in some crew neck sweaters. Are the following OK under v necks?

1) Crew neck tee (preferably not white)
2) V neck tee (prefereably not white as well)
3) Henley

A crew neck tee is fine, a V neck tee would probably be fine as long as it's smaller than the sweater, so you still see that you're wearing something under it. A henley, I would avoid.

I'd honestly say none of those are acceptable under a V neck sweater, at the best you could go with something like a deeper v-neck tee that doesn't show. Really, the answer is, wear a crewneck if you need to layer a tee underneath for warmth something.
