I was able to jump on the deal for Red Wing Beckman's but in a Black Featherstone for $183 shipped! I already have the 1Ks in brown so do you think I will be able to get some good use out the black RW's? I really wanted the Cigar color but maybe Black is not a bad color to have considering I have the 1K's. Thoughts?

I'd get the duck boots or wait for a sale on Sorels (similar).
I personally was able to snake these in the recent BB sale for this winter; we'll see how they handle some ice and snow on walks to work in DC - http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Hiking...efault,pd.html
Sadly, they're out of stock but I got 'em for like $85.

Random question; does it get cold enough to wear peacoats and such? Might sound a bit ignorant of me, but I've lived in 80+ F weather all my life.

Shopping here is pretty good though. Northpark, Galleria, and Allen Outlets. All the necessities and then some.
One warning, the city has the highest number of restaurants per capita in the country...which means a lot of terrible eateries that survive on Groupons and good luck. Do your homework and find the gems if you are a foodie.
And on behalf of the rest of the state, welcome [emoji5]
