Not sure how seasonally appropriate cotton pique would be. Summer only?
It looks quite cropped. Have you tried on anything from them before? Final sale is tough for me to get past.

    • Wouldn't on final sale. Most/all of their jackets look really cropped. I'd stick to the accessories. Some nice pocket squares, silk scarves, and shantung ties. Only issue w/ ties is they're probably 3" or less. And yeah I'd think pique blazers are for S/S.

      • Any ideas on how to get a blood stain out of wool pants? I'm worried some of the ideas online may be too harsh on wool. Appreciate any help.

        • Could this work as a blazer? Or would it look like an orphaned suit jacket? Considering it for the approaching fall season. Thoughts?

          • Has anyone ever gotten in "trouble" for returning too many items to the same retailer?

I almost exclusively shop online due to the convenience and the lack of sizing (XS, etc) in brick and mortar stores.

So a lot of times when I buy clothes from BR/ON/Gap I buy a bunch of different styles/sizes and end up returning a lot/sometimes all of them after trying them on. Also if I just want one item I spend at least $50 to get free shipping even if I know I'm going to return the rest since that is how their system works.

I heard from someone though that if you return too many items you could get blacklisted or banned from returning at certain retailers...anyone know if this is the case?

Looks more like spring / summer to me, but the brown buttons would definitely help make it look like a blazer. It would be close, I would have to see it in person.

I have never heard of someone getting banned.

              • Any one have any experience with the AE Harrison. I am thinking of buying them for my first pair of brown shoes. Thoughts on them or them vs the park ave?

No experience with those, but they'll be nicer than the Park Aves. They're part of the Independence collection which is made with nicer leather, has better insoles, and better finishing. Also, the last is much more sleek than the 5 last which is used on the Park Ave.

As part of the Independence Collection they're definitely higher quality than Park Ave. But while I like the last, I'm not a fan of the short cap on the toe - it reminds me of the stubby cap on the 5th Ave, which I don't like.

                    • Can anyone explain where these Mark McNairy Suede Play Boy shoes fit on the shoe scale? Are they sneakers? Are they oxfords? Are they cool? Would you wear them? I saw that the chukka version of them with the larger sole was based off shoes Steve McQueen wore in bullitt.

I'm totally confused by them but I'm also like, weirdly, that hipster girl in the corner with the tattoos that might be secretly awesome intrigued by them too.

                        • I'm looking for some dark brown / burgandy shoes to wear to work. It's not a formal environment, but I would like something that could be dressed up a little. I've been looking at the J&M Tyndall Wingtips in burgandy, and also the Tyndall Cap Toe Tuxedo oxford in Dark Mahogany. I've also taken a look at ECCO Atlanta Wing Tip in Cognac. Are there any other brands or specific shoes I should look at? As an example, Amazon is selling a Gordon Rush wingtip for $50, but I have no idea if these are any good. I'm looking to spend up to $125, which rules out AE for now.

I just pulled the trigger on a bunch of 50% off dress shirts at BR, and I'm glad I didn't see this first or it would have been part of my (way too big) order.

Saw this coat in store today. IMHO it looks a little too polished to be a blazer (see pics). Also I saw the new (same as last year?) herringbone in store. Check out some quick fit pics of the two. They are just a little cropped on me, the angle of the shot makes it look worse. Pardon the terrible collar on the shirt I am wearing. I just grabbed one OTR because I was wearing a polo.
