Looking for suggestions for every-day wear sneakers to wear with dark indigo jeans. Bright white feels too high contrast to me, so I was considering gray / off-white / similar lower contrast colors.

Any suggestions? I prefer more simple/minimalist sneakers rather than athletic looking ones since I'd wear these around work and be a bit dressier.

Was considering killshots, but those are mostly white as well. I've had puma suedes in gray before but they were a bit bland. Any other suggestions?

I would find it hard to wear the 2 BR sport coats. Stripes and Charcoal almost always look like orphaned suit separates. The Bonobos looks decent but would be pretty pricey if still losing weight. I would try to find a standard navy blazer and wear the hell out of it instead of 3 separate pieces.

I have a nice wool navy blazer that is pretty expensive that fits well. due to it being one of my nicest pieces of clothing, I don't want to use it as a everyday work piece.


the bonoos was 216 witht heir discount. the others were roughly around 100.

Any thoughts on sources for medium-thick wool socks in solid colors? I like having more padding than the typical thin merino dress socks. I like Smartwool, but $21 per pair list price, ouch.

I'm a huge fan of Darn Tough light cushion socks. They're around $16 last I checked, and they have a lifetime warranty, making them a very good value.

Ditto for various offerings from REI (except for some super-ugly patterned ones on clearance). Maybe that’s just the price I have to pay...

It reads tab/beige to me. For pants, lighter colors would work and it depends on the gray. This is more of a spring/summer jacket as opposed to a fall/winter. Replace the button with some brown horn or something comparable.

I will note that the gorge on the jacket makes it look very dated. If I had to guess, you are looking at early 90s or before then. There is one Asian tailor on Instagram who makes new jackets with this gorge but they don't look modern.

I would guess late 70s. I have a jacket from the early 80s where the lapels are starting to get smaller and the gorge has moved up.

It IS socks for life... So it could be viewed as a great investment. I will say, I took two pairs to Italy for nearly three weeks, just washing them in the sink, I've been on team Darn Tough ever since. Actually wearing one of those pairs right now. Three years later, and they're going strong.

I have a lightweight wool Canali that I had tailored. It had that "Columbo" fit off the rack but my tailor shaped it with a bit more style and it still fits well over a suit.
