    Yeah agree with you .

I want to avoid human contact though, so I will forgo that gift.

It has gotten such good reviews and critical approval. I'm excited. Casino Royale fulfills all my coming storm, money, romance, espionage, and riviera fantasies. Quantum of Solace was a less alluring, but still hearty, rumbling after-math shorter film to wrap up the jagged edges of Casino Royale for Bond.

    I hope to enjoy SkyFall.
skyfall is also awesome movie, really enjoyed

Sky fall is the best movie that i have ever seen. It is the twenty-third James Bond film. The whole story centered on Bond's investigation attack on MI6; the attack is part of a plot by former MI6 operative Raoul Silva to humiliate, discredit and kill M as revenge against her for betraying him. Story is superb and very popular among the people.

I thought for sure my wife was giving me the DVD for Valentines Day. LOL, but no, really. She made a Target run the day before and picked up a few things for the kids. I knew that it had just come out, so when she said "you can't look in the bag either" to me, I thought for sure it was in there. Come to think of it, what *did* she get me from Target? Hmmn.. LOL - Don't get me wrong; I have the BESTEST wife in the world. But a movie like *Skyfall* as a gift is something that would be for me *and* her. What woman doesn't dig or boy D.C., right? I'm good with it. At least it's not *Magic Mike* or something similarly awful (or so I would *imagine*).

Blerg! I'm having dying/blocking/changing image links trouble today.

Here is the first image of that last post that doesn't seem to work embedded, or linked anymore:

Well I'll be...just out of curiosity I searched, "do you throw away blu-ray slip covers", and most of hits were people talking about why they don't throw them away (granted they were on movie forums, so I'm sure they're bigger enthusiasts than your average consumer). So, I might very well be in the minority.

I guess I just like my movies to look more uniform when they're sitting on the shelf. I definitely have some with special packaging (Big Lebowski and Dark Knight trilogy jump to mind), but those are functional in that they keep everything together. I guess I'm just a utilitarian blu-ray collector

Haha, really? Those get thrown away with the cellophane whenever they're on a movie I buy
They usually have special art effects on them like multi-textured covers, de-bossing, foiling, etc. They are also usually only available as a sort of display bonus from first run copies. They are made for the purpose of having more free reign with the box art and a more fitting shelf appearance to the film or collection that makes them more appealing on display. I think they are nice, more akin to box sets that have more unique and decorative slipcover paper detailing.

I never quite understand why you would throw them away since they are clearly intended to do the same thing boxes on box set collections do, and you wouldn't throw out parts of box sets just because the smallest functional case works without it.

Anyways, I think they tend to look better than the standard Blu-Ray case alone. Isn't the SkyFall art nicer with how they were able to make it more like the poster presentation without the standard cover format being shown off on shelves instead?

In person, this foiled slipcover just looks nicer to me (and apparently to many since they decided to make it):

Versus this standard paper in the plastic sleeve cover alone, which ends up simply seeming functional:

I prefer to have the two together:

Just bought SkyFall on Blu-Ray. Love the cardboard slipcover and the disc looks nice in the Bond 50 Blu-Ray collection. I don't plan on watching the Blu-Ray until May, when I re-watch Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, but I hear it looks fantastic.
