In larger themes (Bond/Batman are older, have lost a step, are exploring their dark pasts, and start the movie "out of the game" so to speak plus the villains were similar) to minor things (Bond returns to his Wayne manor, we meet his Alfred, the villains big ploy is using tunnels under the city). It wasn't so similar as to distract, and I assume the movie was written before Dark Knight Rises came out (although the writer did acknowledge that the Dark Knight was an inspiration), but I wonder if when the writer saw the Dark Knight, he thought to himself "Damn they did it first."
Sam Mendes said he was inspired by The Dark Knight to take on a Bond film (though, to be honest, I would think Casino Royale would be inspiration enough. He apparently did not think so at the time). SkyFall is indeed similar to The Dark Knight Rises for many viewers, so I'm sure the team behind it recognized the connections eventually.

Saw it again over the weekend. Still great. Got to know it better and enjoyed the opening title song much more this time.

And the product placed Audi, too. Nice digs.

a black stripe on navy pants may look odd I'm guessing they don't have navy satin/silk to match. The guy at DI suggested not to have it as it will make it look odd(i agree, it would be kind of like a track pants look) I should clarify, there's the skyfall movie tux, then there is the premier tux that DC wore that's different. Skyfall it looked nice and dark in dim light and blue under light; I won't get the blue like the promo poster I'm guessing. I just looked at the posters etc and I DO see a blue stripe but it's so hard to see I don't think it will make too much of a difference. If indochino ever comes around with their midnight blue maybe I will upgrade

Then at the movie premier DC wore a different one with a type of diamond pattern along with black pants which clearly had the stripe down the side.

I wish it was midnight blue like indochino but I can live with Navy, not like it's going to be a HUGE let down if I don't have that vibrant of a blue.

Edit: You changed my mind, I decided to go more traditional route and requested them to be added! and they were on both suits go figure!

Thats what happened to me. Super high expectations. The first time I saw the film, even though I avoided plot spoilers, I felt like I was just waiting for the next thing I knew was coming. Partly because while I had avoided story spoilers I had already seen stills from the film, so it was a bit of 'Theres the levi jacket! When do we see him in Shanghai! When is the blue tux! Where is the barbour! How much longer till the Aston shows up!?' On a second and subsequent viewings it settles in a little more and is more enjoyable. You kinda glaze over the glaring plot problems and just focus on how cool it is and it does flow well.

@Shadowlife I'm really interested to see how your tux turns out. The promotion still makes it way more blue than it is in in the film. You don't like the stripe down the side of the pants? Thats one of the things I wish the tux I got from Club Monaco had.

I liked it a lot. I still think Casino Royale was superior, but I'd like to watch Skyfall at least one more time before coming to a final conclusion. My fiance, on the other hand wasn't too crazy about it (and she is a Bond fan). I think she went in with super high expectations, and they weren't met.

Just an [email protected] 5'9 He's going to look big standing around where if you're taller with longer arms, you won't look huge until you're either flexed or just massive. My monkey arms gain about 2" in size from idle to bent; which has actually caused some issues with MTM clothing. So don't get discouraged if you're tall and don't look "big"

I did like the fact he wasn't really super defined, just an all natural physique of I bust my hump off and eat. Rather than a typical hollywood build of "I count my calories and macros and weigh my food...and got airbrushed abs"

@focus DragonInside, Black Lapel will also do navy with black shawl as well, just not as blue as the promo pictures etc.

Printyra, I believe that DC is signed on for 4 more movies, 7 total I think was the number

I absolutely love a blonde bond, it's far less common than dark hair and he's supposed to be seductive which would work well in most countries where they don't have blonde men. I think I really like that fact that the movies are somewhat within reality and the fact he is beaten and injured and not a super hero is just great.

I thought Skyfall was pretty good. I should see it again since everyone is saying it is better the 2nd time around.

I am a big fan of Daniel Craig as Bond. At first, I was not a fan when they came out and picked him. The thought of a blonde Bond was weird to me. Casino Royale was a great movie. All of Craig's Bond movies have been great. He is far more realistic and grittier than Pierce Brosnan's Bond.

I hope Craig stays on as Bond for a while.
